Hi All,

We have just booked our wedding and are looking to possibly cruise for our honeymoon....

We will be travelling in March/April 2015 and wondering where is nice that time of year? We want to go long-haul and have looked at many from Fort Lauderdale, such as Panama Canal.

Any ideas what lines and ships are best for honeymooners?

Look forward to your advise!!

xx

If you looking at the Panama Canal in March & April 2015 you have only two choices of cruise lines (there might some I don't know about). Princess and Holland , for a honeymoon I would recommend Princess . The passengers would tend to be a little younger. Have you considered fly to Australia and cruising back to Hawaii on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity.

Actually, there are quite a few choices, depending on how long you want to go, how much you want to pay, and what languages you are comfortable with. Check out what is available here. If you only want to fly one way, you can take Aurora (P&O-UK) on the end of her world cruise, from Los Angeles to Southampton.

A great idea

We got married on a beach in St Thomas and cruised our honeymoon around the east and west caribbean

There is a honeymoon section that maybe helpful

It also depends on your tastes - if you want to sight see and tour - then the baltics in June/July is port intensive and has wonderful things to see

If you fancy a relaxing beach type trip, then the caribbean or a Med one would give you a mixture

If you want to explore and see things that maybe once in a liefetime - Alaska has wonderful excursions but can be pricey

good luck finding the right thing

I would strongly recommend doing a cruise of the Mediterranean. Since you are already in London it would be much easier and much more exciting to cruise through Europe than the Panama Canal.

I find the ports in Europe to be far more fascinating and iconic than those you would visit on a Panama trip even though the passage through the Canal would be exciting. If you push your trip to May you will have many more options in the Med.

Congratulations and Happy Cruise Planning.

Almost any ship could give you a very nice honeymoon. It all depends on what you are looking to get out of it. Stick around cruise critic and read, read, read.

If you are interested in Panama Canal cruises, you may be interested in South America cruises too. There are some in March/April 2015 that start in Chile or Brazil and end up in Florida or California. Some of them transit the Canal. The ports would be more interesting than the ports on a cruise that only does the Canal. The one that looks best to me is on Oceania's Regatta. It goes from Brazil, up the Amazon and ends in Florida. Oceania is a little more upscale than the typical cruise line. Holland America's Zaandam does the last long South America cruise of the season on April 1 and goes from Chile to Florida.

I like the suggestion of the Australia-Hawaii cruise. Those also then go from Hawaii to California. Celebrity's Solstice and Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas are beautiful ships that do this route.

A cruise in the South Pacific would be very romantic as well.
