cruises r us Posted November 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2013 We have been on a few cruises over Christmas and New Years. As we were getting off the ship on the 2nd or 3rd of January, all the decorations were coming down.

flcruiser3 Posted November 23, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Thanks for your replies. Princess posted a photo of an atrium decorated on Facebook today and it looked beautiful. I will have to plan a Christmas cruise for next year, as I will just miss seeing the decorations this time!

JimAOk1945 Posted November 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2013 I'm glad to know Princess decorates the ships for Christmas. We will be on the Island Princess for Christmas next year. We are very excited about it!
CruisersRgreat Posted November 23, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations go up. We are on the 4 day Thanksgiving cruise and wonder if the ship will be decorated.

Decorations usually go up right around Thanksgiving, so it could be just before your cruise or just after.

We have done several Thanksgiving cruises and the Christmas decor usually goes up the Saturday or Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Pia1913 Posted November 23, 2013 #14 Share Posted November 23, 2013 We have done several Thanksgiving cruises and the Christmas decor usually goes up the Saturday or Sunday after Thanksgiving. That means our latest one was different, since the turkey/Pilgrim display also had Santa and his reindeer along side.
Rare Coral Posted November 23, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 23, 2013 That means our latest one was different, since the turkey/Pilgrim display also had Santa and his reindeer along side. I have only done 7 night cruises over Thanksgiving time frame. Usually the Thanksgiving decor goes down on Friday and as we are disembarking on Saturday or Sunday, the ship is busy decorating for Christmas. Not sure what it would be like if you did a 14 night cruise that covered Thanksgiving and the week after. Maybe they would blend more.

One of the longest we did encompassed Halloween, Thanksgiving and just before Christmas. There were decorations up the kazoo. They couldn't take them down fast enough in order to put new ones up. And Chanukah was in there too.

I was on a long one for Halloween (or long to me) and Halloween decorations were only up for a day or so. Thanksgiving doesn't stay up very long either on my cruises. The only one that does seem to stay up long is Christmas.
Cruisin' Chick Posted November 23, 2013 #18 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Our last three cruises have encompassed Christmas and New Years and once or twice, the decorations were taken down on 12/26.
maun Posted November 24, 2013 #19 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Will be sailing on Crown Princess next Saturday. Hope the ship will be decorated during our cruise. We did a cruise on Emerald Princess in 2010 and the ship looked so pretty. ~~Maun
