I booked via phone as I had pre- paid for open- ended tickets. Could't do that online. Guess I will be calling RCCI!

Even if you booked via phone you can still view your reservation online. You can't make changes, but you can view details and make dining and shore excursion reservations (and, when the time comes, print your setsail pass and luggage tags).

Our TA received a call today from someone at RCCL that is finally starting to make sense.

The RCCL agent said that the stateroom numbers didn't make sense at first glance and that by normal stateroom numbering, our 1884 cabin should be on deck 10, which are virtual balconies. Our TA had to explain about the new cabins on deck 12 and the fact that you have to click on the post drydock link to get the deck plans.

Apparently, when revenue got our booking and saw that we had booked 1884 with as a Superior Oceanview Stateroom w/ balcony, they thought the numbering was actually on deck 10 with a virtual balcony. Whomever (we still haven't got a clear answer on who) saw this thought he/she would do us a favor and move us to a "real" balcony, D3 category which is considered an upgrade.

Right now, the revenue department is handling the issue. They are trying to contact the TA's of the two families that currently have the cabins we booked. They are going to see if the TA's can convince their clients to relinquish the cabins back to us. Our TA is trying to get RCCL to leave the current bookee's in the cabins and upgrade us to JS.

Finally, someone at RCCL is seeing that it was an RCCL screwup.

We have also fired off an email to Adam Goldstein, but have not received a response yet. We have also posted on RCL FB page.

We thought that after the phone call our TA had with RCI last Friday, we were getting somewhere.

Just in case, we also sent an email to Goldstein, posted on FB RCI page and sent a tweet regarding this whole mess and still nothing.

Our TA was supposed to have received a call from RCI today and she ended up calling them late tonight and "they" are going have to call her back tomorrow. She has heard this same line for the past two weeks (since 11/25) and she has had to call them each time. When she calls RCI, she has to go through the whole explanation to a different person to be able to past them to the conflict resolution dept. Each time, the person on the other end has to read all of the notes, just to pass her through. From the phone call last Friday, the RCI agent realized that the mistake was on their end and the revenue dept had to be the dept to make it right.

The other couple is supposed to make final payment tomorrow before 7pm.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

I received a call from a resolution specialist yesterday afternoon and she said that they are still working on getting our original rooms back, but they have to work with the "travel partners" that are currently booked in our original rooms.

I asked her why they couldn't just bump us to a JS for all of the trouble and leave the currently booked people in the rooms. There was dead air.

Supposedly, there are two resolution specialists, a manager and an executive working on resolving this mess. Yesterday, she said she would call me back "tomorrow".

This afternoon I received a call from her again and nothing has changed. They hope to get it resolved tonight and will call me back "tomorrow".

I logged into RCCL website to view our reservation in hopes that the cabin assignments have been resolved....

REJOICE, REJOICE..... we have our original cabin on deck 12 back....

It took 16 days for RCCL to work out the big mess that was started in their revenue department...

Received a call from the resolution specialist and we definitely have our original cabins back. :D

There were some accounting issues and had to send her our original confirmation letter with cost amounts.

She included a bottle of wine and $120 / cabin OBC... we probably could have pushed for more, but that's not what we are about.

If you ever have a problem with booking, don't relinquish... keep pushing and pushing...

This goes a long way for us wanting to continue to sail with RCCL...

We are sooooo looking forward to this cruise... RCI did us right and hopefully NO ONE will have to go through this mess.

Glad it all worked out. I remember reading one CC poster's saga on one of the "rejuvenated" ships for an Alaska cruise where cabin numbers were changed. That cruiser's outcome wasn't as positive as yours.

One last step you may want to take is to go online and indicate you do not want to be upgraded for this cruise. ;) Seems this is a new process.

Enjoy your cruise.

Our resolution specialist said she is going to watch our booking very closely to make sure nothing happens. She and our TA worked too hard to get it straightened out for anything to mess it up.

But, thanks for the suggestion.
