day room at a LAX hotel?

We will be disembarking at Long Beach on 5/3/14 and flying out of LAX at 9 PM. Does anyone know which airport hotels offer day rooms for those taking a late flight?

We have been to Los Angeles many times so really do not want to pass the time with a tour. Thought that being able to take our time disembarking and then taking a cab to a hotel where we can hang out, rest , have an early dinner, etc, would be a stressless plan. Then in the early evening take the hotel shuttle to the airport.

Any suggestions?

I would directly contact the hotels near the airport . That is the best way to the info.

If you stay aboard ship until they kick you off, you will get to the LAX area around 11am or noon. So you have 7 or 8 hours to kill. If you don't really need a room and just want to hang out around the hotel, they may be willing to store your luggage and let you use their pool, lobby, etc. especially if you're a good customer of the chain and leave a suitable tip.

Another option is the airline's lounge...a day pass is usually around $50. The amenities at LAX vary widely depending on the airline. I'm assuming Medford= United; I've never used their LAX lounge.

Thanks everyone...Will call the hotels around the airport. We are not frequent hotel chain users so no joy there.

our airline is Alaska , not even sure if they have a lounge but will check.

Yes. Alaska does have an airport lounge.

Yes I checked but it is $45 per person...am hoping we could find a decent day room with on site restaurant for less than $90or at least under $125.

Consider hanging at a Long Beach hotel during the day have an early dinner. Then take a shuttle or cab to LAX, There is not a lot to do around LAX - even the hotels are very utilitarian. Check your airport lounge - yes it costs but what do you get. Free food? drinks? they are different so the price should be discounted for what you might buy anyway.

Skandls- you are so right-- Stay on Long Beach. Instead of a hotel go to the Aquarium.

The Aquarium of the Pacific will hold luggage. And if you do not have too much you can take the free Passport bus to get there.

The busstop is in the middle of the parking lot under the trees. When exiting the Dome go to the right, out past the parking lot and crew center.
