Dismomx5 Posted December 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We are booked on the Zuiderdam in July 2014 to Alaska. Looking at the dining schedule and show times. On DCL we had late dining, and saw the shows before dinner, which we loved. How are the times on HAL? Thanks for any input.
aliaschief Posted December 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Traditionally, the Main Showrooms are at 8:00 and 10:00 PM. Late dining usually starting at 8:00 PM. Just remind your wait staff that you want to make the last show and they usually make it happen. Only a few times have we missed the show and we have quite a few days on Dam ships. If we feel we are going to miss a show, that we really want to see; we just give up dessert. Now that we have a tendency for longer cruises we always need to give up a few sweets. Enjoy your cruise, Edited December 1, 2013 by aliaschief

The show times are 8 and 10 pm, and the seating in the MDR are 5:30 and 7:45 pm.
OlsSalt Posted December 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We are booked on the Zuiderdam in July 2014 to Alaska. Looking at the dining schedule and show times. On DCL we had late dining, and saw the shows before dinner, which we loved. How are the times on HAL? Thanks for any input. We had that same schedule on a few HAL ships and liked it too - it took a while to even figure out what they were doing because that had not been the case on other HAL ships -- that we were supposed to go to the early show before late seating dinners, because we did not understand at the time why the "late" show started during the middle of late seating. If this had ever been explained, we missed it. But later they did tell people why they were doing this. But once we got all that sorted out we loved not staying up so late from that point on and the 7pm shows were always out right in time to then go on to dinner at 8pm. So I don't know if this is up to each ship, or its contract with the performers or merely testing an alternative for fleet-wide change. But agree, we liked it to. Dismomx5 Posted December 1, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Thank you for the replies. Looks like a nap before dinner, if we don't get to see them until 10. DH would like to ask for his dessert served with his appetizer. Doesn't want to miss it! LOL ;)
