hurwitz5 Posted December 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Has anyone sailed on a ship just before it goes intro drydock? Were there any problems? We are contemplating sailing on the Century from January 20 - February 4. February 4th is the day the Century goes into drydock for a week. We sailed on the Century in October 2012, and felt that the cabins, in particular, were badly needing new mattresses, carpeting, etc. If you have been on the Century recently, did it look like the carpeting and beds have been replaced? Thanks.
constantcruiser Posted December 2, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2013 I haven't been on Century in several years, but I have sailed on other ships the week prior to drydock. The last day or two you'll probably see some crates around, because the crew will start to wrap up materials that will have to be removed from the ship during drydock. One time a couple of areas were unavailable the last day because they had already moved the furniture out. But otherwise everything will likely be business as usual. TeaBag Posted December 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2013 We sailed on Constellation's last cruise before drydock. It was great. No truth to the warning that they would be rolling up the carpets behind us as we left the ship.
