CarlsDad Posted December 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2013 In no particular order here are a few photographs taken during a behind the scenes tour last month on the Dawn. Galley, Laundry, Environmental Services, Bridge (with a photo looking down at our balcony - yes...you can see pretty much everything ;)), Dressing Rooms. It's cold outside and I'm bored :). I'll be more than happy to answer any questions anyone has re: the tour. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.08.16.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.10.46.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.25.42.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.42.45.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.55.25.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.58.52.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2020.59.03.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.02.33.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.19.57.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.20.03.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.22.19.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.34.47.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.34.53.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.37.47.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.42.03.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.57.56.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2021.58.32.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2022.39.11.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2022.39.53.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2022.41.14.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8430634/DawnRepoTour2013/2013-11-12%2022.43.03.jpg Hope you enjoy! ColinIllinois Posted December 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks for the good pictures. I wonder what it meant on that crew poster: "Day 2: Follow the 5 and 10 foot rule"?
CarlsDad Posted December 5, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted December 5, 2013 ColinIllinois, we didn't think to ask but we've wondered the same thing. Anyone care to weigh in?

CarlsDad Posted December 5, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks for sharing! Can anyone sign up for the tour or how does that work? allison0523, Yes. You can sign up at the Guest Services counter on the ship. The cost was $55 pp and the tour took about 3 hours. Tour took place on a sea day. Latitudes Platinum members get a complimentary behind the scenes tour but we've never taken one as we're not yet Platinum.
hpecorari Posted December 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the good pictures. I wonder what it meant on that crew poster: "Day 2: Follow the 5 and 10 foot rule"? Never get closer than 5' to a passenger and be farther away than 10' from a passenger. Harriet Edited December 5, 2013 by hpecorari
che5904 Posted December 5, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks for the good pictures. I wonder what it meant on that crew poster: "Day 2: Follow the 5 and 10 foot rule"? When a guest comes within ten (10) feet of a team member(s), the team member(s) should cease their conversation to acknowledge the approaching guest by making eye contact. At approximately five (5) feet team members should acknowledge the guest(s) with a warm greeting, whenever appropriate.

che5904 Posted December 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2013 che5904, Thank You! That was a perfect answer and makes perfect sense :) I'd like to claim brilliance but I learned long ago google is my friend. ;) I had actually heard that somewhere before and for the life of me, I couldn't remember where and in what situation. Curiosity got the better of me. Glad I could find an answer.
gra2172 Posted December 5, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Neat! You shouldve taken an up close photo of the deck plans so we can see whats in those mysterious white spaces on the deck plans of NCLs site. ;)
chengkp75 Posted December 5, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Neat! You shouldve taken an up close photo of the deck plans so we can see whats in those mysterious white spaces on the deck plans of NCLs site. ;) You would have to have a very good camera and be very, very close. Those Station Bills are difficult to read in real life, and the deck plans are for general guidance only. For fire and emergency procedures, we had a set of deck plans brought to the on-scene command center, and each deck was printed and laminated on a 3' x 6' sheet. Latitudes Platinum members get a complimentary behind the scenes tour but we've never taken one as we're not yet Platinum. The complimentary behind the scenes tour for platinum members does not visit several of the areas on the normal tour route; it's been watered down somewhat. I always thought that was a devious way of advertising a rewards program benefit because they seem to imply that the tours are the same.
