]I am going on my first cruise and spent a year saving for cruise as I'm low income and want the vacation close to perfect. Going be on carnival magic on my birthday the may 4th cruise to belize, cozumel, roatan. My excursions are victor bodden tours, ruins in belize and nachi cocom in cozumel. Got lots of questions.

Is magic a good ship I've heard a lot of bad things about that ship?

Which one those ports has the best unique sovinir shopping?

On Victor bodden tour he said can take me snorkeling at blue channel. Anyone

Been there is it good snorkeling?

Has anyone been to nachi cocom? I'm active person do they have more to do then just laying on beach?

Is the cruise casino slots stiffer then the land slots? Should I see it as expensive fun or do people actually win ?

How is the food in main dining room buffet. Is it comparable to golden corral (lots and lots of average food) ?

Is there any special vaccine s you need? Never been out of country?.

Is magic a good ship I've heard a lot of bad things about that ship? I haven't been on that one yet, so I can't say.

Which one those ports has the best unique sovinir shopping?I got my best deal in Roatan. There is a market just outside the cruise ship part of the port. I picked up 20 little clay pots for $20 after a bit of haggling, and asking a few different vendors. (I needed something little & a bit different of the same thing for my employees.) they were regularly priced at $2-$4 each.

Is the cruise casino slots stiffer then the land slots? Should I see it as expensive fun or do people actually win ? I have never seen anyone win on the slots, though there are a few on the boards that have said they won. So go with the thought of expensive fun.

How is the food in main dining room buffet. Is it comparable to golden corral (lots and lots of average food) ?

No, I would not compare it to Golden corral. The Lido Buffet has many options, I often look at it like a wonder from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Pretty foods piled high, and so many choices of new things to try.

Is there any special vaccine s you need? Never been out of country?.

No, you don't have to get special vaccines for those ports. Just drink only bottled water when in port - unless you are drinking alcohol, that is...

I skipped the questions I didn't know the answer to. Have fun on your cruise!!!

Make sure you have proper documentation. Passport is best. Birth Certificate and picture ID will work for US citizens on a cruise that begins and ends in the same port.

Birth Certificate needs to be issued by a government agency.

Don't forget tips are $11.50 per person per day.

Casino is entertainment only. We only bring a small amount. Once our initial purse is gone, it's gone.

The main dining room doesn't have a buffet. The buffet is on the lido deck. The food is a cut above the golden corral. The deli is very good. The main dining room is a sit down, full service meal. The casino is much tighter than Vegas. But people do win. There is a nice new mall at the dock in Cozumel. The prices reasonable. If you have never snorkeled before give it a try, you will love it. Hope that helps some.

We have been on this itinerary many times and we always use victors tours and always awesome.I have been to Nachi a few times but we converted to MR Sanchos we thought the food was 1000% better and its cheaper. If you google it you can see the menu on the website.Nachi is very very quiet actually too quiet for us.This is west bay beach in Roatan the best snorkeling we have ever done in waist high water. Its not my video but this gives you an idea (we were their though).Slots are very tight you cant go to another casino while at sea ;)

Your post reminds me of me before my first cruise. Also low-income, never been out of the country but wanting everything to be perfect.

With absolutely nothing to compare it to, you'll think that the Magic is the Taj Mahal. Our Our first cruise was on the Ecstasy and we were wowed from beginning to end.

Don't know what kind of food you eat on a regular basis, but for us being low income means that Golden Corral type of food is a special treat. Expect the food on the ship to be a special treat as well.

Gambling is always done for entertainment, not expecting to win.

It's your first cruise and your first time out of the country. Enjoy! It will be a lot of fun!

Is magic a good ship I've heard a lot of bad things about that ship? I've been on the Magic twice and really love the ship. Lots to do and the crew is great.

Which one those ports has the best unique sovinir shopping? I enjoy the shopping in Cozumel because it's so convenient, but Roatan does have great deals on pottery and wooden stuff.

On Victor bodden tour he said can take me snorkeling at blue channel. Anyone

Been there is it good snorkeling? I haven't been there, but Victor Bodden puts on great excursions and I've never seen any complaints.

Has anyone been to nachi cocom? I'm active person do they have more to do then just laying on beach? Nachi is great and usually go there, but the extra activities cost more.

Is the cruise casino slots stiffer then the land slots? Should I see it as expensive fun or do people actually win ? I win all the time on the slots, I play alot of penny slots. On my last cruise in October on the Magic at one point I had a Quick Hit machine up to $500 (I put in $20). I came home with $400.

How is the food in main dining room buffet. Is it comparable to golden corral (lots and lots of average food) ? The main dining room is free and is a sit down order off the menu venue. You will be assigned to a table and eat there every evening unless you want to go up to the Marketplace buffet on the Lido deck. The food in the MDR is very good, but dinner does take about 1.5 hours. The food in the buffet is okay, I would say it's kind of like a Golden Corral, just not as many choices, but it's fine.

You will have the daily newspaper called the Fun Times in your cabin or you can pick one up by Guest Services or some bars. It will have the schedule of all the activities for the day and all the different meal options.

There are a lot of different places to eat on the Magic. Most of them are free but if there is a charge it will be listed in the Fun Times with a + beside the name of the restaurant.

Some of the extra free lunch places are the Deli, Sea Dogs, Pasta Bar in Cucina, Salads and Wraps on deck 5, Pizza (24 hours a day) and Room Service (the menu is on one of the papers in your cabin when you board the ship, don't throw it away.
