MSC Divina Yacht Club - Divine!!!!

Just returned from the 11/30 cruise in the Yacht club. It was by far the BEST cruise my DH and I have ever enjoyed a cruise (this was our 16th). Being in the YC was the best money we ever spent. Being handicapped, DH was treated like gold and they made sure that he was included in everything that was provided on the ship.

The food was FABULOUS in the dining room as well as the Top Sail Lounge, The One Pool, and Room Service.

Our butler was acutely aware that DH was handicapped and went out of his way to make sure that he was accommodated.

We are now completely spoiled and will never again travel in anything else except the YC. Dollat for dollar, you cannot beat the price!!

Any questions, let me know.

Brenda

I'm very glad that you had a great time in the Yacht Club. In my opinion a very good product at sea and you also confirms this as you have been cruising a lot before you boarded the lovely MSC Divina. What attracts me most is the genuin friendliness and service by the crew, quietness and not at least the area it self:)

On top of it you have a megaship to explore.

My guess is that you are already addicted.:D

So glad to hear of your wonderful time and how your dh enjoyed it!

Not YC, but a dear friend of mine was in our group on my 2nd MSC 4 night cruise- she was on a scooter, had horrible scleraderma, breathing and walking problems

MSC treated her wonderfully...at dinner she would scoot in and the handsome maitre d would walk her on his arm to our (close to door/scooter) table

Every one was so kind and helped her in a non obtrusive way (ie buffet, outdoor seating at table by pool)...she had the time of her life, was positively glowing

Sadly she passed a few months ago - I found all our pictures from Poesia and sent them to her daughter on facebook, and I made a lovely "memorial" picture of her from one of our formal night pics

Good memories and MSC was very kind - the happiness in her face and the way she talked about that 4 night cruise every time I saw her has been a factor to make me try MSC twice since then

Yacht Club sounds wonderful -

tho I won't be there, I also will say - for us NON YC cruisers, it does not make us feel "less than" or anything....you really don't even know it is there <grin> I truly enjoyed Divina and think MSC has improved

Hi, Brenda. Thanks for the good review on Yacht Club. I just posted a question about coffee in Yacht Club but thought I would also ask you: is there a coffee machine in the Yacht Club suite? And how much did you have your butler do for you...dare I ask for morning delivery of coffee every morning? Did he escort you to entertainment venues? Did he unpack/pack for you? And did you tip him extra?

When I was on Celebrity, we had a butler but he was divided among 6 suites so was not always available. Is this the same on Divina?

Thanks for any info. :)

There is no machine in the suite, but if you ask the butler, he would be more than happy to deliver coffee each morning.

He did indeed escort us to where we wished.

He asked if he could unpack, but I chose to do it myself.

I did tip him extra at the end of the cruise as he WELL deserved it!

The staff was very kind and unobtrusive. All you had to do was catch their eye and you had anything you wanted. Food in Le Muse was outstanding as well as the small breakfast and lunch provided on the One Pool deck.

I'm spoiled rotten and don't think I'll be able to go on another line. You'll never get this kind of service unless you go on the luxury lines.

What information are you looking for?

Carnival does not have a product like this and I have never been on Holland America.

What we like it is quiet and pretty much all inclusive.

For the most part whatever cruise line I have been on the room attendant cleaned the room twice a day.

What I have found on MSC, our rooms where always clean, I never came back to an undone room. The Butler would get us breakfast and it was always hot and fast. The mini bar was restocked twice a day.

The Top Sail Lounge always open and able to get a snack and drink. The concierge would make appts and take care of whatever business.

The hot tubs were never crowded and always able to a spot on the Sun Deck which I liked.

We had a special elevator to the spa. You can get off the ship any time you wish.

DH and I were met at the port by MSC rep and were taken ASAP to our point of entry to the ship which only took about 5 minutes. (the only thing I was curious about was that we were only offered water - not champagne - but that's OK).

Our Butler was outstanding - his name was Nata - and he was with us thru the entire cruise, catering to our every whim and being there on a moment's notice.

Being all inclusive, we enjoyed many cocktails in the Top Sail Lounge, The One Pool Bar, our butler service and the mini bar in our stateroom. If something was missing, all we had to do was call the butler!

Nata offered to unpack for us, but I chose to do it on my own. However, every time we stepped out of our cabin, it appeared that they were watching (just kidding!!) because our room was spotless each time we returned.

The food in Le Muse was second to none. However, we only ate there 2 nights. We are very private persons and would rather order room service and eat on our balcony. We didn't try to order from the restaurant, but room service was very good.

ALL service staff were extremely unobtrusive (even those that we encountered in the "downtown" of the ship. All were extremely polite and an asset to MSC.

Congratulations on your new endeavor!!

I was on the Yacht Club during Thanksgiving. My butler Bruce was also outstanding. He came to my room every night to help me get dressed. He tied my ties for me, helped me with the studs when I wore a tux, made sure my tie matched the shirt, etc. I wore a tie every night because I like getting dressed up. Then he would always take me to dinner. He packed and unpacked my suitcases. Whatever I asked him to do he did. I don't like eating in my cabin, so I never had room service.

You can eat all three meals in the specialty dining room for YC. The food was excellent, and much more quiet than the main dining rooms. I also ate two dinners in the specialty restaurants, but you have to pay extra for those.

Once you are in the YC, you will never want to go back to regular service again.

Hi neighbor. Have you adjusted to life again? I liked the ship so much, that I booked a cruise for January and then again in March. And in July I am taking the ship from Rio to Miami for 19 days.

So how are you and your family?

What time are you all arriving at the port to board Divina if in Yacht Club? Says boarding time is 4 pm but who ever goes that late? On the other hand, I know the crew members would like some breathing time between disembark and embark, so don't want them upset if we board early. Hmmm....

Europeans getting in off transatlantic flights. You will be able to get on a lot earlier than 4pm. Definitely at 1pm. Earlierbthan that is also possible but largely depends on US immigration and customs not holding up disembarkation of the previous group.

We are going to be in the Yacht Club in March. We cancelled a Celebrity cruise because of the excellent price, bigger suite and the YC concept. We can't wait! Does anyone who sailed YC have any information regarding the private excursions they offer? I understand there is information in the suites and, alternatively, you can book a custom excursion through the concierge. Just wondering what they offer (and prices). Thanks!

I'm new to MSC and expect to book with them soon. Since you mentioned tipping the butler, any opinions on what would be an appropriate amount for this type of service? I just wouldn't want to 'underappreciate' him ;) (yes, I know tip amount can vary widely, but I'm just looking for opinions) Thanks
