Hello.

My boyfriend and I are planning a cruise for jan. 4th 2013

We can't decide between Royal Carribeans Independence of the seas or Carnivals Breeze. It's an 8 day cruise, here are the destinations:

Carnival:

Day 1 Miami, Florida

- 4:00 PM

Day 2 At Sea

- -

Day 3 Grand Turk Island, Turks and Caicos Islands

7:00 AM 2:00 PM

Day 4 La Romana, Dominican Republic

9:00 AM 5:00 PM

Day 5 Curacao, Netherlands Antilles

2:00 PM 11:00 PM

Day 6 Oranjestad, Aruba

8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Day 7 At Sea

- -

Day 8 At Sea

- -

Day 9 Miami, Florida

Royal Carribbean

Day 1 Fort Lauderdale, Florida

- 5:30 PM

Day 2 At Sea

- -

Day 3 At Sea

- -

Day 4 Philipsburg (St. Maarten), Netherlands Antilles

8:00 AM 6:00 PM

Day 5 Basseterre, St Kitts, Saint Kitts and Nevis

8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Day 6 San Juan, Puerto Rico

7:00 AM 2:00 PM

Day 7 Labadee, Haiti

10:00 AM 6:00 PM

Day 8 At Sea

- -

Day 9 Fort Lauderdale, Florida

We have taken celebrity constellation last year and loved it, but it was our first cruise so we weren't sure what to expect.

We want to know what one out of the two has the better destinations/excursions? Which one has better food? What is the better ship out of the two? We don't want to be surrounded by tons of children, as we are more of drinkers. However we don't want to be surrounded by crazy young drinkers. Any input will help. Thanks!

Definitely Breeze!

We've been on both. I'd choose the Breeze - although I think you are going in January 0f 2014 not 2013. I think the itineraries are good for both although I'd give the edge to the Independence due to port times. Curacao has beautiful beaches, but they are a distance away and your port times would not allow.

I think your ship sailed 11 months ago, however if you can catch a 2014 cruise I would say RCL is a far better experience then Carnival.. Even though the Indy is a older ship,it is still a beautiful ship. happy cruising
