capnpugwash Posted December 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2013 I've just had the Cunarder 2013/2014 Yearbook delivered. Lots of Ads, pictures and all that you would expect it to contain. 6.45 on a dark Sunday evening is a strange time to drop it off though.

Dcoy Posted December 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2013 I've just had the Cunarder 2013/2014 Yearbook delivered. Lots of Ads, pictures and all that you would expect it to contain. 6.45 on a dark Sunday evening is a strange time to drop it off though. The US Post Office is delivering packages on Sundays for the next two weeks in some areas. Maybe a simpler thing is being done over there. Enjoy reading. Underwatr Posted December 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2013 Is that a Diamond perk, or Platinum?
capnpugwash Posted December 15, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted December 15, 2013 Is that a Diamond perk, or Platinum? I have no idea, sorry. It is great though if you want to buy a new wristwatch. It also has some nice photos of ships. :)
lannp Posted December 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2013 Mail delivery on a weekend!! We don't even get Saturday delivery. It must be a Diamond Perk because I've never received one before. When I was aboard in October there were some of last year's in the display rack with the sales brochures. I took one to read only in my cabin because it was too large and heavy to lug home with me. It certainly contained a lot of ads and frankly was more a waste of paper and ink than worthwhile value.
juliecat Posted December 15, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2013 I received one two years ago, but nothing last year or yet this year. For reference, I'm Diamond. J

balf Posted December 16, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 16, 2013 The going price on eBay seems to be £26. That's for last years edition though. David.

Underwatr Posted December 17, 2013 #13 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I remember looking forward to my first issue of The Cunarder (the quarterly one). I'll wait until they send me the yearbook for free. :)
Salacia Posted December 17, 2013 #14 Share Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Last September on our QM2 voyage, there was a Cunard Yearbook in the desk draw of our cabin (Britannia Category). It was well printed on good stock. I'd estimate that approximately 85% of the pages were paid advertising, the remaining pages consisted of stock Cunard publicity releases. No doubt advertisers pay dearly for space in Cunard Yearbook since it reaches a desirable demographic group. But why anyone would pay for a copy, that I don't understand. The editorial content is so limited, and most of which already has been published in the Cunarder. The stock publicity photos of the ship are available on line to all. Edited to add: If Cunard was interested in making the Yearbook more attractive, Cunard would pay more attention to the ratio of advertising pages verses editorial pages. As it is now, the Yearbook is nothing but a paid advertising supplement with a short print run, given free of charge as a "bonus" to Diamond World Club members - with over runs placed on board in select areas of the ship.
