Change Your Cruise?

We are within 30 days of sailing. Have insurance but do not have cancel for any reason. It is a work issue that may not allow us to go.:mad:...has anyone ever been able to change their cruise to a later date...? Yes i know the "rules" but seems as if Carnival does break the rules sometimes. This will be our 21st Carnival cruise:D...I will call and ask but we are still hoping the work issue may change...just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone....
