TSUmom Posted December 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2013 The hotel listed on NCL's hotel site is The Hilton Garden Inn. I have not sailed from Tampa so I can not tell you anything more.
garycarla Posted December 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Cruiselines often book from multiple hotels. The one used last month/year can easily be a different one. Many have found they can get better rates booking on their own. Not always, but most of time they do. Hint to poster - You probably should have included Tampa in the subject line to help get better answers.
mrs.cool Posted December 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2013 Just book yourself! Use Expedia or whatever site you like. We're also coming in a day ahead of time, into Tampa. We've been to Tampa quite a few times, so we know the area well, and one of our favorite areas is near the Courtney Campbell Causeway that goes over to Clearwater. We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express right there. There's a Bahama Mama within walking distance, as we won't have a car it makes sense to stay within walking distance. The price is half of the Garden Inn.
terry2 Posted December 22, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2013 Just to prevent confusion. When doing a NCL cruise and flying from the UK, the normal NCL package includes the cruise, flight AND one night at a hotel near the departing port. There is NO option of buying just the cruise and flight - though you can buy just the cruise and then make all the other arrangements yourself. I assume they do it this way to make sure the passenger is scheduled to arrive a day in advance (just to allow slippage for flights going wrong). Hi, we are here from UK also, taking a Xmas W Caribbean cruise on the Dawn today 22/12. We had a glorious week first on Anna Maria Island/Bradenton Beach, then came back to Tampa yesterday & stayed near the port(6$ cab ride away??)at Westin Harbour Island. We booked with booking.com but actually the price went down after we booked so Im trying to claim a reund from them! However, we have a great view of the bay, & ships, from our room on 11th floor.
