Hi Andy,

Unless things have changed since we were on board Quest in October, Ngawhira is now the Guest Relations Manager.

She is a lovely lady - I will always remember her kindness and help when we were on Quest in May.

Happy holidays to you and all your family

Hazel

By now she could be on vacation. Nikki takes over in that job between the two ships. I have never met this lady. Nikki been in board both times I have been on.

We met Ngawhira on our first Azamara cruise in 2008 and have sailed with her many times since. There were lots more problems to solve back then, and Ngawhira was a very busy lady indeed. She is very good at her job and handles really difficult people with grace. We love sailing on the Quest when she's aboard.

All good things must come to an end. We reach San Juan tomorrow. I feel like a plump little partridge after eight nights on board. I can't even suck it in any more! Russ our Musical Director warned that it's easy for guests to put on a pound a day and I scoffed at him but now I'm eating crow. Lord knows I've eaten and drunk every thing else on offer! :D

We had very good luck with all our shore excursions. We weren't nearly as independent this time around as we usually are-we booked 6 tours for ourselves. I like that Azamara made sure we were in manageable groups. Today for example we had a coach ride around St. Martin/Maarten and the bus had plenty of empty seats, by design. Nice not to be crowded.

The DJ is excellent and had a crowded dance floor more nights than not. I can hear the music right now from the internet room and it's singing its siren song to me....dancing shoes are on already!

I don't like the piano where it is because although visually it's a great space, the ping ping ping of those idiot gambling machines is very distracting when Max is playing. The casino sounds carry through the walls. He's been playing some fantastic selections all week long.

Safe travels home. Glad you had a great trip. Can hardly wait to hear about the entire trip!

Thanks for the report on the ship's tours. We always book private tours, but they weren't so easy to find for this cruise and with such a small passenger load, I imagine the tour groups will be much smaller than the big ship groups.

In our experience the groups are always smaller on Azamara, indeed on our last cruise we saw larger private groups going out than we were on with the cruiseline. That said, we also had some less than good guides, though I think that was an issue also found by private groups in the Indian subcontinent if the dinner conversations we had were anything to go by

Hi Phil, I am able to confirm that Pam will indeed be on the Suez Canal cruise with you and yes she used the certificate you give her. I have a feeling that Pam mentioned that she also lost your email address but was really looking forward to seeing you again April 14. She is on the Quest until LA and she was in cabin 6077 when we left. I know she would dearly love to hear from you.

Robert, just to let you know that I messaged Russ Grieve on Quest and he was able to get a message to Pam and we are now in touch via email. Thanks so much for your help in setting the wheels in motion.

Phil
