Hair straighteners

This may be a silly question but we have only cruised once before on celebrity. On the RCI website theres a small statement that hair straighteners are not allowed on board but when you open the full list of prohibited items they are not mentioned.

I understand clothes irons are not allowed but we had no issues with hair straighteners on celebrity.

Can someone please clarify?

I always bring mine and it can also be used to get a couple of light wrinkles out of clothes :eek:

Can you point us to where is says that hair straighteners are not allowed?

 

My wife always brings hers - always!

 

Not sure I'd want to tell her she could not bring one. We'd probably skip the formal night :eek:, and go with the more casual frizzy look in the WJ :D

Our family always brings several hair straighteners, and curling irons, and never had a problem on RCI or any other cruiseline. I would have to stop cruising if I couldn't style my hair!

Yes it does state on the uk website that their not allowed,

Its an error, a few years back the Wife phoned them and they admitted it shouldnt be on there.

But we all know what Royals web maintenance is like :D and im sure it will still state that in years to come

This! I would smuggle my straightener in a body cavity before I would cruise without it, LOL. :p

Oh man that would be a the horror of it all. I've always brought mine. Without it-that Caribbean air can do cotton candy like things to my hair!!:eek:

I always bring my tools! I just always make sure to unplug them the minute I am done and be careful as to what surface it put them down on. I never though leave them lying around when we are out of our cabin. I always pack them away in the drawer.

I took mine for the fist time (new hair cut requires a straightener!) in December. Alas the voltage wouldn't convert to the USA adapters properly and it wouldn't heat! I was devastated!

That happened to me in dominican Republic years back but since I bought new GHDs it has been resolved
