Meet and Greet Ideas

It might be too late for your 1/19 cruise, but we did a small gift exchange at our last M&G. Everyone brought an under $10 gift to represent their hometown. It was fun.

Slot tournament is where everyone who wants to participate puts in a set amt of $, then choose a slot (usually $1-3 slot), everyone then takes turns pulling the handle. At the end all participants divide the money won if there is any.

Slot pulls are a lot of fun and can be done various ways with various amounts of dollars put in the slot machine. The following are the rules for the one we are organizing on the Breeze in February for $20 per person.

SLOT PULL RULES

Everyone welcome!! However, you must pre-register. Once play has begun (1st pull) no one else will be included.

Cost per person: $20

One $1 machine will be selected for play

Must bet: $5 per pull

Each person gets 4 pulls

Vic will have a spread sheet to keep track of who wins what.

All winnings will be paid out in even dollars…no coin.

The person who wins the most will end up with the extra cash.

For example: 10 people enter ($20 x 10 people = $200) All of the $200 will be placed in the machine to start.

Everyone takes their turn at 4 pulls in a row (max bet).

At the end of all pulls, and we have $275 left in the machine, we divide $275 by 10 = $27.50.

Aunt Betty won the most money on her play.

Nine people will receive $27 and Aunt Betty will get $27 plus the coin ($5).

Someone will have to organize this...which is easy. You need an approximate number of people that want to participate.

We ask people on our roll call to let us know on the roll call.

When we first get on board my DH goes to the casino manager to let them know we have X number of people for a slot pull.

Before the cruise I make a Word document with a table showing Cabin Number, Name, 1st Pull, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, $ Won, and Paid.

That is why it's nice to know ahead of time who wants in.

Names can always be added or crossed off if someone can't make it.

Cabin numbers are good in case the time needs to be changed.

We usually have the slot pull in the afternoon on the first sea day and will let people know the exact time at the M&G (usually held that morning).

At the designated time we all meet at the casino and go to the machine that has been reserved for us.

Here the check list comes in handy...everybody puts all their money in the machine before the first pull is made.

We give a last call for anyone and then the fun begins.

You may also want to have a cabin crawl after the M&G.

Sorry I ramble, but this is a lot of fun and I'm getting excited now that our cruise is also near!

Have fun and safe cruising.

We are attending a Meet & Greet with our roll call for the Conquest January 19th, 2014 sailing. Any ideas for fun things to do? How do you conduct a slot tournament?

You could also arrange a cabin crawl if there are people on your roll call with different categories that don't mind the others coming by to see their cabin.

When you do a cabin crawl, do you bring your own cocktail with you or does the cabin being visited provide cocktails and/or snacks?

It could be either way. To me you will get more participation if you do not expect each cabin to provide something. That could be very pricey if you have a large group. I would prefer to meet in a bar beforehand to pick up a drink.

Well, that all depends on the group? :D Some Roll Call Groups participate, and some do not. It is always a toss up for each cruise.

Not that anyone would snuggle, but, for those using the Fun Shops or Room Service for bottles of liquor or beer, usually the participants provide a shot or three along the way in some cabins. Although it is not required, the best Cabin Crawls we have done included champagne, jello shooters, chocolate something or other shots in cabins... well, you get the idea!:):)

But we always took our own drinks as well. We usually included a Poker run in the Cabin Crawl, which added to the fun.:)

What is a Poker run & how do you do it?

The Poker Runs that I have been on consisted of:

Everyone pays a set amount for the Poker Run (PR), collected (by the PR organizer) at the M&G prior to the PR. $5-10-15-20 per person (not cabin) depending on the M&G vote?:)

Each Cabin Owner included on the Cabin Crawl provides a deck of cards, (and/or an extra thingy or two??), and displays them a la Vegas' style (not the thingy's) on a Bed or Table for everyone to select a card as they visit the cabin.

At the last cabin on the crawl, the best hand is awarded with the prize for winner. Note: If there are more than 7 cabins on the Crawl, then be sure to use the best 7 cards to determine the winner!...:D

We did a slot pull on the Conquest in November.

It started around 10 in the morning. The casino host arranged a $1/$3 max bet machine. Each of us put in $15 and did 5 pulls.

Beforehand we pulled our order number. This was recorded by the organizer. She made sure that there was always 5 people in the line so it went fast.

The monies on the machine was divided equally to the nearest dollar. The extra was awarded to the number was pulled out of the hat.

We used the organizer's S&S card for the Player's Bank.

A big note on a Slot Pull! Never Give Up!..... In Dec, on the Fascination, we hit on the Wheel Of Fortune machine for $75, $200, $700, and cashed out for $90 each for about 10 of us.

We did the same..the only thing we did different was we put everyone's name in a hat at the beginning and the winner had their card used as the Player Bank. Gotta love those casino points!! :D
