Dining Room Table Online Pre-Assignment

We are a party of ten. As son as I made final payment, I tried to reserves at table for 10 (or one table for four and one for six) but hey said nothing was available except at 5:30 or 8:15. One time is two early and the other is too late for some of our grandchildren. On Celebrity we were always able to get a table for 10 each evening at 7:15. But now nothing is available and the trip is still two months away. What does anyone suggest? This is for the Allure.

They don't usually assign tables sooner than 50 days prior to the cruise. I've been successful by contacting Kathleen (Kat) Truscello at "KTTruscello@RCCL.com". She is Administrator, Restaurant Operations & Specialty Restaurant Administrator.

Good luck.

Not to sound too dumb, but I guess it is too early to send in a request for our May 3 cruise? When I made the cruise reservation they asked and I indicated a table for two. I would like to follow that up by emailing. I will wait until mid March to do the email though based on you guy's comments. Thanks

After boarding I always have lunch..... between lunch and the rooms being ready I go down and make my reservation for the dining room. Being flexible it is always very easy and never a problem...time or table. I like it as it is......

The Maitre D's don't want to give up the "tips" they get for better table assignments.

I have never tipped the MD's for a table. I found that in the past when I requested a specific table when booking via RCCl agents, It never materialized. When I went to see the MD's once on board and expressed my frustration, he blamed the Miami office and the Miami office blamed the MD. Now I simply E-mail RCCL dining and get my wishes, plus a confirmation that I print and take with me if anything goes wrong. I do not want any hassle when I'm on board as there are many Pax wanting specific or better table locations.

From all the various opinions on this thread, the only glimmer of an idea I could take from it would be that your cabin TV could show you the approximate location of your dining table, which would save some people the bother of heading to the dining room to suss out the location, and possibly clear a bit of the milling around on the first night.

PS. We also keep a record of table locations on completed cruises for future reference. For example, when we cruised the Oasis a few years ago, we had table 631 which was table for 2 by a window. Since Oasis and the Allure are similar, on our upcoming Allure cruise, I requested the same table # an got a confirm

I tried using the email address above and it was returned as undeliverable. Any other suggestions? Can I contact her using the RCCL website?

We never select a table beforehand. Half the fun is finding out where you are seated and who your dining companions are.

We have had some great times. All our tablemates have been easy to get along with and there is one group of four that we became friends with (and still are after 5 years). Had we selected a small table, this friendship would never have happened.

I personally think that people who do not sit at larger tables are missing out on quite a bit. Just my opinion. As they say...horses for courses.

You have one "T" too many. It is: KTruscello@rccl.com

I just corresponded with her a few days ago. She told me you must wait until 50 days prior to sailing as that is when the sailing will be in their system.

I got the correct address and she returned my email within a few hours. She was most helpful and took care of what we needed.

Thanks for your advice.
