Anyone received an approval for Excursion Guarantee?

Honestly, to me, that isn't clear regarding transportation. It reads to me like they will wait for you to arrive before leaving for the diving excursion. If I was booking the excursion myself I would be asking about transportation.

I'm not saying I'm right or Carnival is right, it is just not clear to me.

Thank you...sometimes it helps to have an outside person look at it. I also read this

Complimentary transportation from your hotel; other arrangements for cruise ship passengers!

So, between "let us know when your ship comes in and we'll do the rest" and the fact that they make arrangements for the cruise ship passenger, I assume this means they are taking care of the transportation. I have emailed them to make sure, but I have a feeling that an email is not going to suffice for Carnival because it is not expressly written on their website.

They also have a bunch of pictures of cruise ship customers diving saying "they made it back to their ship on time!" :D

Just an FYI: I got approval for Carnivals Stingray City and Coral Garden Tour. I matched it with something you could find if you searched google for Brian and 3 hour and Stingray. Same length of time and everything. $26 less per person and about average after looking at similar tours.

I was denied and getting very fed up. They keep telling me the tours aren't comparable because the carnival one is 4 hours and the private one is 2 hours. The site actually says it is 2, 4 or 6 hours for the same price. Can I cancel my carnival excursion and get a refund? I'm losing my patience with the Carnival rep.

"The boat the boat was different", "the other boat did not advertise stairs into the water", or Carnival is speculating that a tour "might be different". Of course very few tours will be 100% comparable to the Nth degree. This is by Carnival's design...... their contracted vendors are prohibited from selling the same tours directly to Carnival guests, and if Carnival has enough control over the pier they will also restrict other tour vendors' employees' access to the pier and/or their ability to provide convenient pickups and dropoffs at the pier.

It seems like Carnival is already reneging on the spirit of the guarantee.

I'd be inclined to send a strongly worded reply threatening to cancel the Carnival excursion altogether. And at the same time, out of spite I might even buy extra excursions just to tie up their inventory, then cancel and request refunds right before the refund deadline:D

Like of Carnival's other "brilliant" programs, I wouldn't be surprised if it winds up costing them more in ill-will than they gain in incremental revenues.

Their wording is unfortunate for this situation. While I understand what you are saying and agree, the fact they say "complimentary transportation from your hotel: other arrangements for cruise ship passengers" leaves it open for intepretation. Why the distinction?

I didn't expect that the price match guarantee would be useful. I didn't even bother. Its nice to see some getting it, but it seems most are experiencing what I expected.

Just got an OBC for $18.44 per person, times 4, for our Roatan excursion. The email said our account would be credited soon. That was over a $1 more than I had asked for per person.

YEA!!!!! That will actually pay for one of my family's excursions.

Can you send the info on the tour company you used?

thanks...Liz

Received $65.96 for tour in Montego Bay - Horse Back Riding. Took 2 days after submittal.

Shows as a reduction of tour price on your Cruise Doc's and when the payment is applied on ship board you end up with a overpayment which translates to OBC.

Well we are still battling with Carnival over the Puerto Vallarta Pirate Ship Adventure!!! I haven't heard anything about my request but my best friend was denied because the excursion does not provide transportation to the Puerto Vallarta marina!! The funny thing is the fact that our cruise ship docks at the marina right beside the pirate ship!!! No transport needed! And their website clearly states that they will meet us at our ship and escort us to the pirate ship! So basically their reason for denying the claim is due to their inability to read the URL that she provided them!!!

I really hope that I don't have to go through the same ordeal as my best friend!

Update on our Puerto Vallarta Pirate Ship Adventure!!! The battle continues...

So remember how the Miracle is docked directly next to the Pirate ship at the PV marina...and the website directly states "if you are on a ship, we will meet you at your cruise ship and escort you to the Marigalante"

All quotes for transportation fees are directed to land resort clients... So here is Carnivals response...

Since they are similar we did not want to completely deny your claim. The price for the excursion you provided is at $76.00 plus the cost of the transfer at $5.00 one way. Total price per person $81.00 and total for two at $162.00. We will provide you the 110% of the difference as on board credit which is $20.89 per person or $41.78 for a cabin of two.

You may print out this email for your records and proof of this on board credit which will only show once on board.

Please understand that this was taken as high as possible and no other compensation will be applied since this was an exception.

It's like they are too lazy to actually read the website!!! Ahh!!!

They are squabbling with me over verbage on a diving excursion in Freeport. I told them they can either honor the price guarantee and just make up the $50 in OBC (not losing any money) or they can lose the whole $176 because we will go with the third party.

According to the response I received, Carnival offers transportation to the diving excursion, the third party doesn't say that they do....what does this paragraph say to you (taken from their website that was sent to Carnival)???

Typically ships arrive after the normal scheduled departure times on the island; what do we do? Change our departure times to fit your ships schedule! Just contact us and let us know which ship you will be arriving on and we will take care of the rest of the details.

Yeah, I think Sunn Odyssey Divers are more accommodating than Carnival

When I contacted them...they said they would pick up for $15pp roundtrip...so I sent this to Carnival...so far they are still denying the price adjustment. It is still much cheaper than Carnival's Freeport dives. So I have no idea why they are still denying it.... I am still squabbling with them....

If anyone is successful with the Cozumel Dune Buggy tour, please post! This is the only excursion we are doing and I would love to get an OBC. :D

I submitted a form for this excursion last Saturday, the 18th, and have not yet received a response. I did just email carnival support

So today they stated no go because the roundtrip was "not included". So I resent an email asking how a two tank dive with round trip transportation was different than a two tank dive with roundtrip transportation?

Will see what they say.

My claim for the diving went to management and it was still denied.

For what it is worth, I emailed the diving company in Freeport, roundtrip transportation is provided but they do charge $15. Their total still still beat Carnival's price but that was the loophole Carnival used....extra charge for transportation.

Yeah thats what I figure they are going to tell me to. But I do think it is just wrong. And thats what I just told them...even with the add on fee for the transportation...they are still cheaper than Carnival. Seems pretty black and white.

I was content with there overpriced charge in the beginning ( I like UNEXSO) but then THEY started touting all this wonderful EXCURSION GUARANTEE...

My response to them is stop all the false advertising...it just makes them look soooo petty.

So that being said...yeah I'm over it, time to move on. I will just go back to getting ready for my wonderful cruise!!:D
