Fishing

Has anyone had any recent experience with Tortuga Charter's Tortuga IV for fishing? Are they close to where the cruise ships dock? We'll be on the Carnival Freedom soon and my husband and Dad would like to give them a try.

It's about a 10 minute walk to their dock. Not bad. I've fished the Tortuga IV a couple times. It's a good day. It's a nice boat and the crew is very friendly. It's typical to come back with a few fish....I've never really seen anyone come back with a huge catch. But what you do catch, you can take to Dante's and they will cook it for you. Dante's is right there where the boat ties up.

We love to hang out at Schooner Wharf and wait for the morning charters to show up. I walk over and check out the catch and then watch the Tarpon go crazy as they clean the fish and dump the guts overboard. Fun stuff.

Oh, and Dante's also has great scenery!:D
