Voyager - very forward cabin - motion?

We will be sailing on the Voyager this summer (May - June timeframe).

We booked a cabin that is on deck 7, all the way in the front of the ship.

We'll be sailing from the Med to the Baltic.

Does anyone have any experience regarding an excess of motion that far forward on the Voyager during that time of year?

Thank you!

We have been in 707 which is not all the way forward, but pretty close. There is a bit of motion, but very tolerable, just feel like you are on the ocean as opposed to land. The good thing is that there is none of the dreaded vibration, and we intentionally select suites forward for this reason.

Thank you very much for the info, RachelG.

I'm glad to hear there is no vibration at the forward end of the ship.

One of my main concerns is sailing in the waters from the Med to the Baltic.

Are the seas fairly choppy in that region at that time of year?

There was a lot of motion coming around that corner from the Med to the Atlantic. A good day to stay put in your suite if you have issues, but I don't remember feeling sick. The Med is usually pretty calm, and in summer months, Baltic is usually not bad either. Of course, no way to predict weather with certainty that far ahead.

We have cruised twice on Voyager, both times in cabin 703. We selected it the second time because we liked it a lot the first time. No motion or vibration issues at all. The forward area on deck 7 is to my mind the nicest place to be -- a little isolated from the noise and bustle of the mainstream.

We have done many full world cruises on Voyager (back when they still had them) and we were always in a forward cabin..713, 705, 711. No dreaded vibration and only what motion you get from being on a ship. When the seas were rough it was rough for the whole ship, no place to hide really. The Med is usually fairly calm...going out to the Atlantic and around the corner is hit and miss..who can predict it? Being at front of Voyager is very quiet, low traffic. The Voyager lounge can be very noisy especially on Karioki (sp) night but you don't hear anything that far forward. It will be fine. That far forward you will have the bow wave, and will see many flying fish from your balcony and if you are lucky a few times have seen dolphins swimming in the bow wave, awesome!.

Have a great cruise!

We were in 700 on the Voyager, a few years ago, on the Med and it was a very comfortable ride. The view is amazing!

We will be in suite 12000 on the Oceania Riviera this summer, again all the way forward, and expect the same comfortable ride.
