If you're a beer drinker, order Fosters with it. That us a huge huge can, covered on the card as a drink. Best bang for your buck for beer?,:)

Ahhh...ok then. I am a beer drinker (among other drinks) but never had Fosters. I guess I should give that a try. Thank you :)

GREAT job with the highlights!

I purchased Cheers on my last cruise and will be purchasing it again on my next cruise

Only things I would add is .... that I did get the 25% discount on drinks over $10. There are not many single drinks that fall into this category but on my Breeze cruise I purchased a glass of Barolo in the Cucina at dinner which was over $10 per glass and I received the discount.

Drinks with "floater" (i.e. Miami Vice with a floater of rum on top).... do not count...you have to pay the additional $ for the floater ($2??) which is billed to S&S SO best practice is to order the Miami Vice and then a shot of rum....you get more in a shot than a floater but it does count toward your 15 drinks.....I found that most bar waiters would serve at the same time but swipe my card 5 minutes later and just come back for me to sign.

Oh....and if you purchase specialty beverages at the Cafe you can't use the card here and all charges go on your S&S card

So yes I've been on several cruises but apparently not since they introduced this "alcohol card" deal. Can someone give me the ins and outs on this deal please including pricing, limitations etc? Thanks so much!:)

The Cheers Program (alcohol card) is not offered in all ships. I so know both The Dream and Breeze have it. First: everyone in your party at drinking age must purchase it ( approx. $58 per day) 2nd, you can not share the card, your photo shows up when you swipe the card. You are limited to 15 drinks per day and there is a wait time between drinks. All that said , most drinks run $6.00 and up so that's $90 owe day if you drink all 15. We don't but still get it because fancy drinks and liqueur can run $7.50 and up per drink. We save around $175.00 per week by buying the cheers program. You have to wait till the ship Clears for departure to buy it , you can use on board credit towards it. You can purchase the cheers program at guest services or on the lido deck. Near the Blue Iguana and Red Frog .

You do not have to wait until the ship clears to purchase it. I always head straight to the lobby bar upon embarkation and purchase it right then.

The only exception to this is if you are sailing from Galveston it can't be purchased until day 2.

You cannot purchase it at guest services. You can purchase it at the lobby bar or any of the main pool bars on the Lido deck.

At least someone found the Carnival breakdown for cheers, I of course am only going from a year past memory but it appears I was pretty close. The only thing is would argue is the ability to purchase it. We Priority board around 10:15 to 10:30 , we hang out at the Lido pool and could not purchase cheers at that time . Possibly once general boarding begins was the difference. Anyway thanks for the official posting for cheers and Yes my fault it is the lobby bar you get it at and not guest services.

Happy Cruising !!!

In july, I sailed on the Glory and boarded at 11:30am and purchased the cheers program right at the lobby bar as I walked in... time stamp was 11:40am on the receipt... I also purchased on the Pride out of Baltimore at the lobby bar when I boarded, but that was about 12:30pm

I purchased the cheers program on the Elation, and I drink Baileys on the rocks, and eventhough a double shot of Baileys is 9.00, they said I could not order a double...anybody else run into this???

Yep, they won't do doubles because it counts as two drinks. Of course we were able to a bar tender to mix a double and charge one drink to me and one to the wife but unfortunately that's what had to be done. Any drink you may know with two kinds of booze in it will run into that problem.

Amazing that there are ppl who will drink that much! :D

.

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way implying anything negative regarding those who might accomplish that feat. I'm all for "cruise your own cruise" and if you don't impede my enjoyment (or someone else's) then I don't care how much you drink or whatever else you want to do.

I'm just thinking about the ugly effects if I were to try that. It wouldn't be pretty.

Then I thought about how I'd many miles I'd have to run to burn off the calories.

So you need to skip the cruise, and enter a marathon , get a wheat grass drink and a tofu burger. The rest of us 5,000 people that cruise, enjoy expensive drinks and people making every effort to accommodate us will understand that our $10.00 and up drinks get expensive so the cheers program is a benefit. Your dumb comment is not needed on a thread that are asking legitimate questions deserves a favorable response.
