Serenade to Med in August - will prices drop?

Just about to book Serenade of the Seas for the med out of Barcelona for August 3rd.

 

My friend wants to come, but thinks the prices will come down after final payment. What do you all think? There seems to be a lot of cabins left, but the prices are higher on that date than they are the next sailing. Does that mean anything?

August is the peak summer holiday month in Europe.

No way to predict pricing. Better to have your stateroom selected. Plus, if prices come down significantly, you can still upgrade after final payment.

My July 10 cruise Med cruise on Serenade just dropped a whole bunch...but categories are also selling out fast.

It also depends on the cabin category. We sailed on Serenade in the Med in the first week of September last year and are doing so in May this year. Some categories of cabin sold out quickly last year and are already sold out this year.

 

This is a popular itinerary since it's a longer cruise and takes in a lot of ports, you will also be cruising right in the middle of summer holidays for many Europeans - which this cruise attracts. Additionally there are less RC ships in the Med this year than there have been for a number of years.

 

Whilst no-one can ever be certain what will happen, I wouldn't be too confident about prices going down on this cruise. Also agree with what Bob said, book the category you want and maybe update if the prices do come down

Usually. There are some exceptions, the most common being that Royal has restricted the lower rate to new bookings.
