Hate to see you end the wonderful review. You gave me precious memories every post and a few regrets of things I missed. Like the second Martini Tasting...How did we overlook that??? Guess Angie was right about us Jewels not reading our Dailies close enough...lol.

Can't wait to join you and Brian on another cruise!!!!

:eek::rolleyes: lol

it was so nice to take this journey with all of you. I loved reading this perspective and seeing how we all had our own holiday doing own thing having our own experiences, yet meeting up along the way to share a few things together.

This was definitely a great trip. One of our better ones since we did Alaska almost 2 years ago (June 2012)

Picking the right ship for ones personal wants, needs, likes and dis likes, at the right time makes all the difference. Meeting up with like minded travelers along the way..a wonderful bonus!

We are sailing on the Sky in April for our anniversary, and in the summer we head to Ireland for a 15 day small group escorted tour.

We look forward to meeting more friends along the way and with any luck will see some of you again in the future.

Thanks again to Johan for this lovely report and all the work that went into it

Angie

I'll use any excuse to travel, and I think a martini is a pretty decent one! Oh, if only...

I would have liked to do that Martini tasting as well..but Rob was just wanting to chill for a bit. Had so much fun with you and Mike at the first one.

Hopefully one day our paths will cross again :)

Yeah, one Martini tasting was all I could handle! (or should I say all Don could handle since he drank most of mine!) I'm turning into such a lightweight drinker...lol!

Day 8 - Saying goodbye to the Jewel

We woke up at 6:30 am and quickly made our way to the front balcony only to discover that we were already docked in NOLA.

Disembarkation was a breeze. We left our room at 8:10 am carrying our own luggage, met Virginia who escorted us off the ship, cleared custom and were at the airport by 9:30 am.

Our flight from NOLA to Washington, DC was right on time, but we encountered a one-hour delay in DC. We finally landed in Philadelphia at 5:30 pm and had to remove snow from our car. How quickly did a week go by? On Tuesday, we were sunbathing in Cozumel and now we are cleaning snow.

Great review, It looks like you both had a great time!

Where was this sign located? Just interested if they'll have it on our cruise the end of May.

We saw that sign during the galley and kitchen tour. Not sure why they don't have it for everyone to see.

Hello all,

Sorry for the delay. I have been sick with a bad cold, but now feeling better and ready to continue with the review.

Before continuing with the review, I wanted to share something that a fellow cruiser, LAKECLIFF, wanted to post, but was unable to share the pictures. Thanks LAKECLIFF for your comments.

Here is what she wanted to share:

"I wanted to comment on the difference between the "welcome back onboard" reception between the Jewel and the Ryndam. The Jewel had the dance music blasting with the crew members dancing in two lines with each other and the passengers. The Ryndam had a few crew members and a stack of wheelchairs by the entrance.... AND the Ryndam decks were lined with people looking down at the party going on at the Jewel entrance and I am sure they were wishing they were on our ship...lol.

The Ryndam.

Priceless.....

Thanks. We did have a great time. How was your cruise? Please give my besst to Mrs. EnsignPulver.

Mrs. EnsignPulver says hello and she really enjoyed your review! We had a great time on our 12 day on the sun with BlueSea777. Five days at sea which means 5 Martini Tastings plus a few Dark and Stormy's in honor of our Bermuda friends.

I took on a case a wine and when we had dinner with Bluesea777 at Le Bistro one night I brought out a 2009 Paraduxx like we shared on our cruise a drank a toast to you!

Happy sailings! It looks like we are going back to W. Caribbean next January.

Very nice review. Wonderful pics. Loved the food pics. I do have a question. When u ate breakfast or lunch at Cagneys. Was this a preset menu? How many different choices were on the menu and could you order an omelette for breakfast? Thanks.
