Have our cabin assignment 12 days out.

We got our cabin assignment, however it came about in an unusual way. I notice the price of our guaranteed balcony cabin had come down by $145 after final payment on the site we booked with. So...I thought what the heck, I'll give them a call and see if they'll give me some on board credit.

They called NCL and gave us $40 in on board credit.

Then they said, we haven't been assigned a cabin yet, and they upgraded us to a mid ship balcony. In addition to that, they noticed the other cabin we had booked for our friends was already assigned a cabin #. So they also upgraded our friends, put them in a cabin just 1 cabin over from ours and also gave them the $40 OBC. Grant it I was on the phone/hold for 45 minutes.

But what an up grade. Also, I'm always very nice to people when calling.

Yay for upgrades! Glad you got your cabin assignment!

That's awesome! Well done.

Still no cabin for us. My travel agent rang NCL about a separate enquiry and was informed that we will most definitely get our cabin assignment when we get to the pier. We'll see.

This is funny, not being mean, just that you've been so patient and I can tell you're really excited. I hope you get a fantastic cabin and that you have a great cruise after all this.

Please, do let us know what you've ended up with and best of luck.

Booked less than 2 weeks ago a BF GTY on Epic's october TA with NCL (actually it was a quick rebooking to save the deposit from the april TA which we booked again at a better price for a B6 with a travel agency although NCL did got us from a chosen BD to a M2 unasked), got a B6 assigned today!

Hm confusing? ;)

Got a question for js4rq. If you are going on the NCL sky Feb 15-17, according to NCL the only sold out cabins are the suites. Who told you the cruise was sold out? I hope your TA is really calling NCL. I know when my TA called NCL I was on hold for 45 minutes, with my TA who was on hold with NCL.

Let's say we don't get our cabin assignment until we get to port. How will the porters know what cabin to take our luggage to?

your cabin number will be on the list he/she has. We have done the gty twice on NCL, both times gotten our cabin number almost immediately and both times just a little disappointed. I have always heard, the longer it takes, the better the cabin. I don't know if this is true or not. But, we still always just happy to be cruising and we know going in, it is a gamble.

due to all the weather problems, plane delays, people missing or almost missing their cruise the cruise lines have been very busy lately. I don't know when you had the 45 min experience, but it could have been due to some issues the cruise lines were having.

Jagggg we are going on the Pride of America, 15-22 February. The cruise has been sold out since mid January. There are no cabins available on any websites, including NCL.

newmexicoNita I sure hope you're right hehe we booked an obstructed oceanview in April last year and "upgraded" to a guaranteed balcony cabin for a small fee before final payment in November.

On our P&O cruises we were not assigned a cabin until around 30 days out. So we're used to waiting I guess! :D

Today I called casinos at sea who turned me over to NCL's air dept since I had not got my air or cabin assig. Casinos at sea said that they could not assig. air until I had an assigned cabin. they got my assigned cabin then got the air. I don't know if you got air through NCL but this helped me get an assigned cabin.
