Are there any restraunts within walking distance from the Hyatt Place Ft. Lauderdale? Any information about their port shuttle, such as what is the time of the first shuttle? Lastly, what is the price to leave your car at the hotel for the week? Thanks!

We just stayed here a few weeks ago! Great hotel with good breakfast.

It was very rainy so we ate at Outback Steakhouse which was across the parking lot. However, there was a very nice Italian/Steakhouse higher end restaurant there too. A block away are some more choices.

The shuttles were $7.00 per person and ran at 10, 11, 12 and 1 during the day.

The ride was maybe 10 minutes.

We didn't have a car.

We enjoyed our one night here and would recommend it.

The Hyatt Place mentioned through Value Trips. Is this a different location, than mentioned by the Outback?

I think both are on Value Trips, but the one on 17th Street is the one near Outback. It's very popular with cruisers because it's near the Eisenhower entrance to the port and it's near the Intracoastal with lots of yachts and the Water Taxi.

There are plenty of restaurants in the area from plain old Denny's to nice, but a bit pricey Bimini Boatyard and Kelley's Landing. You already know about Outback, but there's also Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub across the street from Hyatt Place. In the Harbor Shops is Duffy's Sports Grill, 5 Guys Burgers & Fries, Firehouse Subs, Gilbert's 17th Street Grill, Lauderdale Grill, Moe's Southwestern Grill, Giuliani's Pizza, Joe's Grill, Coco's Asian Grill and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

Trust me, you won't go hungry for lack of restaurants.

If you need some supplies there is a Publix Grocery store right across from the front entrance. We were able to pick up some wine and soda. :) We also went to tthe Outback for a late meal, very easy to find.

There is only one Hyatt Place in Fort Lauderdale. It is a block off 17th St and it is on Valuetrips. There is another one south of the airport in Dania Beach.

Even when you put Ft Lauderdale in the location box of a search other area hotels will come up and most people never notice whether the hotel is in Ft Lauderdale proper or Dania Beach or Hollywood or whatever.

There is a pretty good ($$$) Italian/Steak Place directly in front of the Hyatt, just walk out the front door of the hotel and you'll see it. Unfortunately I forget it's name. But if you walk more than 50 steps you went too far.

As for shuttle, just grab a cab when you're ready to go. There will probably be a few waiting outside the hotel or have the front desk call one. Cost for the cab should be less than $10 and even including a tip it'll be less than the shuttle, which will probably be crowded anyhow. Distance to pier is maybe 5-7 minutes.

I think the confusion comes with the fact that the website for this hotel list:

hyatt place fort lauderdale 17th street convention center

1851 SE 10th Ave (Harbor Shops Drive West)

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, 33316

Tel: 954 763 7670

Fax: 954 763 6269

So its one hotel, listed as 17th Street, but actual address is 10th Ave!!!

If you go out the back door of the Hyatt, walking a short distance then walk through the parking lot you will come to the area of shops, Duffy's, etc. It is a 7 minute walk from the Hyatt. The people there can direct you. ;)
