Just booked a VIFP free cabin on the Dream

I was randomly checking cruises through the Carnival site and saw that the prices were incredibly low so I checkrd my offers under my VIFP number and I had a free cabin offer. I could book an inside and pay approx $80 in port charges per person and that is it. We booked a 7 day Easter Cruise with an upgraded balcony room for only $313 total for 2 people...Incredible!!!

My wife and I are Platinum Members, but have never received a free cruise offer before and on my last cruise this past New Years I only played $10 at a slot machine in the casino and that was it.

The only thing I did different is fill out a questionnaire after the cruise on Carnival's website so maybe that was it...Who knows.

I wish everyone luck in getting the same offer!!!

Thank you Carnival! :D

I just booked my cruise using the same offer.

My husband and I are red level (used to be gold before the change in the program, need 3 more nights for gold level) and have not cruised with Carnival since 2011.

I was going through our mail and usually I throw out all marketing material, but for some reason I decided to open that envelope. I could not believe the offer was legit, but it was.

I booked 7 day cruise on Conquest for me, my husband and I on a balcony. The upgrade from the inside room (free offer) to the balcony was $70 each for me and my husband, adding our daughter cost us $200. So the entire cruise was around $350 plus fees and taxes.

The offer was only available through my husband's account and not mine, so I am not sure how selection process worked. I don't know the reason why we were selected either. We do spend on board for drinks, our daughter participation in paid Camp Carnival activities and sometimes excursions out of difficult ports (like Belize), but I don't think we spend crazy amounts of money.

Anyway, my husband swore of Carnival after our last cruise and quite frankly I don't blame him. But he could not resist this offer as we were able to book during the week of my birthday (big 4-0 :(), and use our miles to buy airline tickets.

Who knows, maybe 2.0 upgrades will change our minds and we will come back to Carnival and their investment in this offer will pay off.

When you say you received this offer do you mean email/normal mail? Or does it just show up when planning your cruise and choosing a rate with your carnival number?

We knew of the offer because of the snail mail letter. When I logged into his account it (to see if the offer was legitimate), the offer showed up under VFIP offers in his account. So check your on-line account to see if you have that offer.

Glad we found others who scored similar deals. I'm Gold, the wife is Platinum. I got the letter showing a free inside cabin. Read the fine print till my eyes watered, then hit the website. It's true. Inside on the Sunshine was free. Balcony? $40 more. We booked the same cruise we were going to for October, for May and saved $2000. Bonus: It's one of the last sailings to Tortola. It gets swapped out for San Juan later this summer.

Wow, this April will be my 32 cruise with CCL and I have never , never, and never got a free cruise. Is there something that you are not telling us?. However I think that's great.

My niece scored one of these "free" cabin offers. She has only sailed 3 times and never stepped foot into the casino so the offer is definitely related to the amount of cruises taken or the casino. She was told by her PVP that these were picked randomly by Carnival. I wish it was me but glad she was picked! :)

Have a great cruise! :D

Congratulations on your good fortune!

From everything I have read, it seems like Carnival is using this incentive to get past guests back on board if they haven't cruised in a while.

It seems really odd to me that Carnival rewards those that are not their best customers, but isn't rewarding its best customers in the same way.

I guess the underlying message sent is that if you want the offer, you have to jump ship and avoid Carnival. :-)

I agree with the first part of your statement.

I was the only one to receive the offer as well...My wife was mad and wanted to know why since she has more VIFP points than I do. ;)

My offer showed up online when I logged in to my Carnival Account...Then you go to the Manage tab...then VIFP Club...Then My Offers.

Be sure that when you are searching cruises on the Carnival site to make sure under the Special Offers section that the VIFP area is checked off and the number is in the box. I tried it a couple of times and it didn't have the number listed.

69 days until our free cruise!!!

I understand how you feel, but for Carnival it is not about reward, it is about incentive. They have no reason to offer you a free cruise, they know you will keep sailing with them.

After our 2011 cruise, we cancelled our future booking and our future booking certificate (I forget how it was called, but it would have given us on-board credit if we used it).

With this offer, Carnival will get one more chance to impress us. For our family, there was no way we would have stepped a foot on Carnival ship in the near future without this offer.

Well, it is a good day. Though, I don't have a free cruise :(, I did learn a new feature of the Carnival website. I have a free 2-category upgrade. So, I need to learn how to handle this with my PVP since I already have 3 cruises booked.

Diamond here also (since they started the diamond program) and have never received an offer like this.

I guess they figure since I always have 4-5 cruises booked they do not have to offer me any incentive.

Congrats to all that have received a free cruise.

I too was looking for a cheap get away for March of this year. I called, my cruise rep pulled my past guest number and said I qualified for a free cabin. Just had to pay for our air fair (which is NOT free and totally ridiculous) and we are on our way! Congrats and have fun!
