Day pass options? Help appreciated

So I've been to Nassau several times but never did a day pass.

We are a couple in their mid twenties. I was looking at the various options and can't decide. Breezes seems like a good deal but we are not "spring break" type people. I like to drink but I'm not looking for a crazy atmosphere/people throwing up ect. Some of what I read about breezes seems worrisome. Has anyone gone? Sandals seems nice but a little on the high side for what we were wanting to spend..is it worth it? The other one I was looking at was the Sheraton but I wasn't sure if I would wind up spending the same in drinks/food.

Also we will be there from 12-8. With travel time included is it even worth it to do one?

Any help would be appreciated!

The day pass is definitely worth it...Skip Breezes, it's on the low end of quality...Sandals is the same owner but this is a more high end property - nice but very mature crowd - I'd say 40's and up...I'm not sure why it's pricier than average. I think the best bet on Cable Beach is the Melia (formerly Sheraton) - nice beach, lively but not wild or crazy, great pool and use of non motorized equipment included...we got the option that included the lunch buffet and it was very good. Its about a 10-15 minute drive by cab but like half an hour by local bus (bus #10 goes right by there) There was also a local market across the street that sold handmade souvenirs and tshirts etc. We booked on *****.com because the Melia doesn't sell online...however some people purchase at arrival.

If you opt not to take the day pass, consider a rum tour - we took a great 2 hour tour with Islandz Tours which was a blast! It included shots and tropical drinks, a tour of the rum distillery, which is beautiful and a few other stops including Greycliff, which is world renowned for cigar rolling and their chocolatier...the tour guide was a young local, very knowledgeable and hilarious!

The key to enjoying Nassau is to have a plan...once you escape the hectic cruise port it's an enjoyable place...hope this helps :)

I've used them in the past. You present your pass/receipt from them and the tour guide honors it. Pretty smooth process..plus they offer a guarantee. I'd use them again.

Are you looking for all inclusive? We booked a pass for the British Colonial Hilton for next week. It's $60 pp but includes $40 in vouchers for food and drink pp. Its within walking distance of the ship and is a smaller quiet property with a beach and a small pool. It is not a party spot.

What website can I use to buy day passes to melia?..

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Day passes are available at the front desk.. same day.

The website that was being advertised looks like it's been deleted or banned.

The owners aren't posted anymore either.

We were in Nassau on February 10th and used the Wyndham. It was $20 per person and included the use of their facilities - beach area including lounges, and all non-motorized water sports (had to put down a deposit for equipment but it was returned when you returned your items) and a beautiful pool. The pool has a pool bar and there was a dj playing music. It also has an awesome waterslide (great for adults too).

The lady at the front desk also told us that with our Wyndham day pass we could also use the property next door at the Melia and it was gorgeous as well. They have a really nice pool and beach area as well.

Very quiet and relaxing - not a party atmosphere if that's what you're looking for.

Also, there was a guy selling drinks on the beach between the properties and he mixed a mean Pina Colada (came in it's own little coconut and was plenty strong enough) for $6.00 or $8.00 I think compared to the bar at the Melia where 2 drinks in little plastic cups was $20 and some change.

Here is a link to my review and there are pictures and more information on these places - http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1992968

I would highly recommend the Wyndham if you are looking for a beautiful, safe and inexpensive day.

Apparently the link to the website is banned as well. I think we all saw that coming.

Sandals and Breezes do not have the same owner. I think you are thinking of Beaches.

I would love to hear what you thought of this resort. How far of a walk was it, and was it worth the price? Any hidden fees? What did you do while there? Thanks so much!

Did you just show up and at the front desk ask for day pass? I looked at their website, looks like a nice resort.

That's exactly what we did! I did call before we left home to verify some details - price, what it included, etc. but they said just to come the day of and they would take care of it when we got there. We didn't have to pre-pay or reserve or anything which was great just in case your itinerary or something changes.

It is a VERY nice place - would definitely go again and take my kids!

Which resort with day pass would be best for a family with a 5 year old? I think most of the Atlantis water park is geared at older kids, so a resort with good pool and beach would be fine.

You would want to check out the Wyndham Resort and Casino too I think. We didn't have children with us this trip but I would definitely take mine and think they would have plenty to do to keep them entertained. Beautiful beach and pool area with waterslide and you can use the resort next door at the Melia which has a beautiful pool with waterfalls. It's $20/per person a day at Wyndham and $30/per person a day at Melia. We paid the $20 at Wyndham and used the Melia also.

Here is a review I did on our sailing that includes info on the Wyndham as well as pictures. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1992968

Good luck!

Thank you for that. I have heard about Melia and Hilton, but never heard about Wyndham (or the prices for that matter).

I will check out the pictures when I get back home tonight.

Do you happen to remember what non-motorized watersports the Whyndam had? Was planning to take out kids (3&7) to theSheraton, but maybe the Whyndam would be just as good and a bit cheaper!

Following this as well. I m trying to give the husband a bottom line price on what this will cost. I am getting that it is $20 each way for the taxi for 4 of us. Then $20 each (is that the kids price as well?) for the Wyndham.

$20 taxi is if there is a shuttle going ($5 pp). Otherwise, It's $18 for 2 ppl plus $3 for ea. add'l person.

Not sure about kids pricing. It used to be 1/2 prices when the price was much higher. At $20, I don't really know.

Word is that much of the outside is shut down (tiki bar, swim up bar, etc.. and last I heard the slide was not operating).

here's the local number

(242) 327-6200

I know they had snorkel equipment and kayaks. Seems like they also had the paddleboard type things. I don't really remember for sure - we just got some snorkel equipment.
