Loriall Posted February 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2014 We will be travelling with our five year old next month. He will be with us other than the times he's in the kids club? Will he need his room card ever on the ship? If so, I'll get a lanyard for him, but I'd rather not, he'd likely lose it and the card. Thanks
Cruisin' Chick Posted February 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Don't know about NCL, but my daughter didn't keep her card til she was much older. We always got her from the kids' programs on Carnival and Princess, so she didn't need it to open the cabin door. If she wanted a soda (since Princess has mini-fridges in every cabin, we would bring on beverages to keep in it) or hot chocolate, we would buy it for her. cb at sea Posted February 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Until your child can go about all alone, YOU keep their card!
Mom2B&Z Posted February 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2014 No. Our boys will be 9&6 when we board Breakaway in 2.5 weeks and neither will get possession of their card :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

smalltownmomwa Posted February 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2014 My 7 & 9 YO's each had their card on their lanyard. They didn't really *need* it, as they were always with us, or in kids club, but they loved having it. And, we would let them jog ahead & let themselves into the cabin. Before crusing I wasn't sure how the crowds would be, so I gave it to them as a safety thing that they could always go to the cabin & get in if we got separated. That wasn't an issue at all. I don't think a 5 YO would need one as I wouldn't let them out of my sight or kids club. Ever. Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk
Rare mitsugirly Posted February 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2014 THEY do not need the card, but you will when you go ashore. You must bring it with you to check them off the ship and then back on. That's the only time we have ever used our daughters on the ship. :)
