silver wedding Posted February 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2014 I'm finding it hard to find travel insurance for my up coming cruise. I have had the same conditions for over ten years and had no problems. I have now gone past 60 I this the difference. Anyone know of any companies who would insure me? jeanlyon Posted February 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2014 Try Insure & Go. We have 3 medical conditions between us.
Flowerpower22 Posted February 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2014 If you go onto the British Heart Foundation website, they have a list of insurers that cover pre-existing medical conditions
Scriv Posted February 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Also try World First Travel Insurance at http://www.world-first.co.uk for pre existing conditions and age. But as always, make sure you tell them everything! Edited February 21, 2014 by Scriv
margtee Posted February 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2014 We have found http://www.flexicover.co.uk to be very good. Between us we have a few ailments (heart and age related!) and they could offer us a 12 months policy at a very reasonable rate - at least compared to some I tried. Good luck finding the right cover and enjoy your holiday. Margtee
dsrdsrdsr Posted February 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2014 Staysure cover virtually every medical condition, at ages well past 60. My mother just turned 81 and has an annual policy with them (no pre-existing conditions for her, but it is medical that they specialise in). pete14 Posted February 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2014 I have just taken out an annual policy through http://www.southdownsinsurance.co.uk. The policy is with AXA. Found them through a search on Google and an insurance comparison site. We have 5 medical declarations between us, but both under 60. Premium was less than half renewal premium from existing insurer for similar cover.
stocktonmackem Posted February 22, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2014 My husband has used explorer travel this year. He has 3 separate pre existing illnesses and I found it reasonable compared to some of the others we tried.
silver wedding Posted February 22, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted February 22, 2014 I have had to take a single trip insurance for my cruise next month with allclear. I may cancel my Caribbean cruise next year if I can't get a cheaper quote. Worldwide annual is very expensive now. Maybe P&O could look at including insurance with top ups for pre existing medical conditions.
