GrandBistro Posted February 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2014 The easiest and cheapest way is to fold them as instructed, "laminate" them with clear packing tape, and then loop them through your luggage handle and staple. You can also order personalized tags from Celebrity - they come printed with your name and cabin info, and are adhesive, just like airline luggage tags. There are also a lot of clear plastic luggage tag sleeves available from a variety of online dealers. That's a little more expensive, but you might feel like they are more durable. I've used each method and all work equally well.
varoo Posted February 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2014 What is the best way to make them stay on the luggage or are their any tips on how to fold and use them The easiest, cheapest and fastest way is to have your bags tagged at the pier. You can either attach them yourself, or let the porters do it for you. No need to bother with ordering anything in advance or having to remember to bring them along from home. Nothing to fold or laminate or print. There is nothing to buy. They attach in seconds and stay on with no problem until you take them off.
Tucker in Texas Posted February 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I went to Walgreens and bought travel size toothpaste packets. They have a small tube of toothpaste, toothbrush and cover. Cost $1. The heavy plastic packing they come in is the right size for the luggage tags. I use a cable tie to attach them to my suitcase. catugirl Posted February 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2014 We bought clear plastic luggage tags from Stein Mart and used them on our last cruise. Before that we enclosed the Celebrity in clear mailing tape. Both worked fine, but we prefer the clear luggage tags we bought because they're very sturdy. Unless you purchase the sturdy ones, it's best if you wait to arrive in your port city before you attach the luggage tags, and then you don't have to worry about them breaking. Biker19 Posted February 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2014 The main/only reason to apply tags before arriving at the ship is if you feel unlucky and think your luggage will get lost on the flight to port. Then, the tag could make it more likely to have your luggage make it to the ship.
