Carnival Fascination Questions

I will be leaving out on the Carnival Fascination this week and have a few questions.

1. Is the Jax Port covered parking? Or is Jetway Parking the way to go?

2. Is the Cheers program Available on the ship? If so does purchasing it on day 2 reduce the cost to just 3 days instead of the cruise total 4 days?

3. What are some things to look for on the Ship that would be lesser known to the General Public?

1. The parking is not covered. Not sure about Jetway parking. We stay at hotel and shuttle over from hotel.

2. They have Cheers program but not sure about waiting.

3. There is a coin on the ship. All ships have them. Hint: Around the Mini Golf Area.

1. The Jax Port is not covered, but we still prefer to park there due to the convenience of getting off and being able to hop right in our car. For some reason the Fascination has one of the slowest debarkation of any ship we have ever been on. Not sure if it's a customs problem but just expect it and you will be fine. I think even doing self assist our earliest debark was close to 9:00am. (This is the reason we prefer to park at the port rather than more waiting on a shuttle).

2. Sorry not familiar with the Cheers program.

3. Things to look for.........TOMMY the bartender. He has been with Carnival over 25 years and he is a hoot! He used to be in the Atruim bar, but on our last cruise was in the bar towards the back of the ship. Just ask anyone where Tommy is located and they will lead you to him. Tell him all of his fans here on Cruise Critic says hi!!!?

We were just on the Fascination last week. You're gonna have a great time.

Jetway Parking is the way to go. Sean was great to us (we had 2 cars and there was 6 of us). They drop you off right at the door and pick you up right at the door.

I'm actually working on my review so if you want to check it out please do.

Getting ready to post more to it.

If you have any other questions post them on there and I'll answer if I know!

Have fun!

Cheers is available on Fascination. If you are leaving Thursday, I'll see you on the ship!

Any idea on if you can purchase the package on the second day?

I'm pretty sure they said you could only purchase Cheers within the first 24 hours from embarkation and it would cover the entire cruse, but I'm not 100% sure. In case you're curious, I believe the total cost of Cheers (with gratuity inc.) was about $287 for the five day cruise.

I agree with an above poster...Tommy was the best! Last week he was in the lido bar, at the back of the ship. He was AWESOME. Loved him, and he seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his job. Always happy to see that.

Is Tommy an older man with glasses that is bald on the top of his head?

I'm pretty sure that you must buy Cheers for the entire cruise unless you are embarking in a Texas port.

The following restrictions apply:

· Guests must purchase the program for the entire cruise - this program is not offered on a per day basis.

· Guests must be 21 years or older to purchase and agree not to give to minors.

· Each adult (21 years or older) assigned to the same stateroom must purchase the program.

· Only one drink at a time may be ordered. No sharing is permitted.

· Applicable state and local taxes will be charged to the guest folio when this program is used within US waters.

· Carnival reserves the right to refuse service for any reason.

. Program allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hours period (6AM - 6AM).

Carnival reserves the right to refuse service for any reason.

· Program is non-refundable.

I do self assist and as a platinum member you can go to the main dining room and you are escorted off the ship first thing after customs clears the ship. First trip they were missing persons in immigrations and keep calling for them. The second trip, my paper said be at dinning room at 7:40 am and when I arrived she said they had already left, I just took the stairs myself and got fussed at, but showed my card and left. The last time I got off the ship at 7:30 am. Parking is $75 at the port but is just a quick walk from the pier. But this time of year fog causes delays getting in and out of port sometimes

I love the cheers program, However, after your 15 drinks I was not able to even purchase a drink.

I wish I would have meet Tommy, he may have been the bald gentleman in the back, doing the Martinis? My bartenders were, Oscar, Ardi, Mary Grace, Cholanda (She took a while to warm up to myself but was well worth it for the service) Say "Hi" to them form, I'll be back in April but most are leaving right before then.

Look, for crew smoking deck. Its accessible from a set of inside stairs (Not Marked Crew Only), Aft on Upper Deck, it goes up to the Empress deck below Serenity, there it is marked crew only.
