vaccinations required?

Hi We are going on a cruise from Sydney, Australia, stopping in New Zealand, Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora...Do we need to get any shots before we go?:confused:

We have been to all the countries/ports mentioned, and have never felt that we needed any additional vaccinations.

In 25+ years we have yet to be asked to provide shot records to sail. But, on a personal note, if you are prone to infections, it may not be a bad idea.

I think it's a good idea to get the Hepatits B vaccinations. There are 3 injections over a period of a few months.

I say this because my sister contacted Hep. B in Mexico one year...she was deathly sick. They stayed at a reputable hotel and did not eat at any of those local street vendors or other restaurants. One can never be too careful.

It's always wise to keep up with your tetanus vaccine.

Shots are not required, but agree with above about Hep and tetanus shots. We travel a lot, and I enjoy peace of mind that we are better protected. I worry less about my adventurous husband eating what I call "street" food. I was really glad the guy on Isle of Pines had closed up his snail sales out of the back of his truck when my husband got the urge to try one.

Apparently tetanus is isn't given regularly now but on a needs basis - ie dirty cut.
