Help really confused about cheers

I been thinking and now have questions... regarding the Cheers program:

The glasses were rather small say if you order a jack and coke I recall last year the glasses just being a bit taller than juice glasses. If you order a double drink you get a tall regular size drink and are only charge $3 more for it.

My question is, does anybody have a photo of the glasses being used on the Fascination I know your laughing but here is why I asking.

If your only allowed 15 drinks in a 24 hour period...and if the glasses are remain to be the small ones, then your actually only getting 7 drinks. I read your totally cut off (not that I will drink 15 maybe....lol) if you exceed 15 drinks your not able to buy/pay for more. Is this true.

So with this being said, is the Cheers program really worth it...if I pay $55.00 and the size glasses are small so that would be equivalent to 7 drinks and if I buy lets say a jack and coke double which cost $6.50 but ask for double and get a large glass for just $3.00 more, if I drink 7 of these it would cost me $66.00 and I am able to order more than 15 drinks (again, I don't think I ever went past 15 drinks but if the glasses are small I thinking I may). So my question remains is it worth getting the Cheers program.

It sure would help if I could see photos of the size glassware they serve for cocktails to make a better decision.

Its the shots of alcohol that they count, not the size of the glass.

If they use a smaller glass than a standard old fashioned (a standard spirit glass) then you are getting the same amount of alcohol but less mixer, so the drink would taste stronger, but the alcohol would be the same

When I ordered a spirit and mixer I always asked for it in a large glass with lots of mixer. My partner got it as served. Both had the exact same measure of alcohol. Regardless of the size of glass, the measure of alcohol doesn't change, just the amount of mixer you want!

So is your question about getting a bigger drink (as in more mixer) or a double?

Doubles are not permitted on cheers! but you can get a single in a tall glass, wait 5 minutes and buy a shot and then add it to your drink.

It would be counted as 2 drinks because it is two measures of alcohol.

If you just want a bigger drink then get a standard drink in a a tall glass and it is counted as 1 drink.

Ooopsie...I wonder if I got a stronger drink because we tip the bartenders extra interesting....

Kazbar my question is whether the cheers program is worth it or is it, I know they add a lot of mixer, the other question is if they know your part of the cheers program if they put more mixer in the drink just like goduckies05 just mentioned.

You'll feel out the bartenders the first 24 hours. Keep 1's and 5's for cash tips for them, at least on the first couple of days. I've found you get wayyy more hookup on the pours at outside Lido bars VS Casino/Atrium etc. Lots of cameras in those places, people don't want to get fired.

I drank the funship special everyday on our last cruise in the Triumph. The Aft bar by the pool was the weakest. Red Frog was perfect, the Lobby bar was strong. One day so strong I could barely drink it! And most of the time if the bartender was busy they didn't even charge for my sons Shirley temple. I tipped a little over the 15%, but not much. Say all that to say this...I feel like the drinks were not weakened or watered down at all. Even tho they were $10 a pop I felt like I got my money's worth. 3 a day is about all I can handle when they are that strong!

Yes, it is absolutely worth it. As someone else said doubles aren't allowed so unless you are asking for the morning bloody mary special it's the only drink that is a true double.

The long island iced tea is the strongest drink they make and it's included in the cheers program.

I usually buy the Cheers program and a wine package. That way my wines during dinner don't count toward my 15 daily limit. After about 4pm I would rather be drinking wine anyway.

So as to piggy back this question me and my wife are taking our first cruise on 5/24/13 to renew our Vows on our 5 year anniversary on the Pride. We want to purchase the cheers program but i am wondering once the 15 drink limit is reached will i not be able to purchase any more drinks. I like to drink beer and can put back some shots. (and not be sloppy drunk, but we are some drinking people) and there has been more than one occasion that a 12 pack can be put back by me during a basket ball game

You are allowed 15 drinks from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. anything after that has to be extra. the bartenders will cut you off (whether on the cheers program or buying single) if they believe you need to be cut off. So in answer to your question, if you want another beer after the 15th, yes you can get one but you have to pay for it.

That really varies ship to ship. lately people have been reporting a hard cut off at 15 with no chance to purchase above that limit. Some are getting around that by purchasing "buckets" or drinks above the $10 limit BEFORE hitting the 15 and those aren't counted against your 15......

So we can't automatically assume that you will be allowed to purchase anything after you've reached the 15 drink limit.

I even heard last week that they may stop allowing the morning Bloody Mary special to be sold under Cheers since the large special is actually 2 shots and the program prohibits doubles. But the price of the large special in the am is only $8.95 so I'll be raising a stink if they say I can't have it.

Technically the Long Island Iced Tea has more than 2 shots in it, but it's on the Cheers program.

I drink Long Island Iced Teas and they come in tall glasses too, I won't be using my 15 but my other half orders jack and soda water and that is served in the smallest glasses I ever seen in any place thats why I am worried that the Cheers program may not be good for him, but its good for me so still deciding what to do.

Not necessarily, Long Island ice tea and Martinis have more alcohol than say the frozen drinks, but all are counted the same.

We are beer drinkers also. One thing we did is on port days, when we would normally drink less than 15, we would occasionally order unopened beers to keep in a coolr in the cabin, giving us a few extras for sea days.

Thank you...but my issue was last year we went and they didn't have the Cheers program on the Fascination at that time, the drinks were very small glasses, so not sure if its worth it as your cut off at 15 drinks. I wonder what the actual ounces of that glass is for jack/coke or grey goose/tonic?

Cheers customers get exactly the same drinks as everyone else, with one exception: they will not serve DODs in souvenir glasses. So the glasses for DODs will look different, but the contents will be exactly the same.

You will not know by looking at other guests' drinks who has Cheers and who does not.

Did Cheers and thought the drinks were OVER poured, this was my experience. If they were smaller they were doubles.;)

I read all the FAQ's about cheers on Carnival's page and it does not mention doubles as being not allowed. Is this an unwritten rule or are doubles simply more than the ten dollar max for a drink? Their FAQ's actually say ALL drinks at ten dollars or less.
