BJDownUnder Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We are taking a NCL cruise out of New Orleans, after a 25 hours travel from Australia I was hoping to book my father (78 year old) and myself a nice thai massage pre embarkation……can anyone recommend a good massage shop near the NOLA port…..something tasteful…
AjBren2 Posted February 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Sorry this won't answer your question and I'm really not trying to make fun or be rude. But a posting from "BJ""down under", looking for a 'taste-ful' massage parlor...why that's enough to awaken the giggly teenager in anybody... garycarla Posted February 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2014 What hotel are you staying at? Most of the big hotels have a spa. I am also guessing there are a number of "extra service" massage places around there someplace which you probably do not want to stumble into. VideoTech Posted February 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2014 If you can't find a nice spa in an upscale hotel, you could of course wait until you board, and book one for your first evening on the ship. They usually have some nice specials on that first day. I do know there is a spa in the Loew's hotel on Poydras st.- they provide spa services for Harrah's casino clients and my wife has had massages there. She say's it's "ok" nothing spectacular, but good.
BOS_CruiseGuy Posted March 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Craigslist will surely have lots of suggestions for either in-call or out-call. Legitimate and otherwise.
VanessaM Posted March 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2014 BJ- I'm not sure if you're familiar with Yelp, but I would check them out. It's a site that consumers rate places. You can put in the city and services you're looking for. I have found some great places while on vacation through Yelp. I work in rehab and IMO I find most hotel and cruise massages are just ok and definately not worth the price. I'm sure you can probably find a great little gem or maybe a therapist that will come to you in your hotel. Good Luck!
VideoTech Posted March 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Craigslist will surely have lots of suggestions for either in-call or out-call. Legitimate and otherwise. I would not go to Craigslist for this type of information. If you're insistent on a massage before you board, please start with the major hotels, many of whom do have spas.
