fefe Posted March 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Sailing this Sun. on Nieuw Amsterdam. I see the package only includes alcohol drinks up to $7. If the drink is more do you pay the difference? Is there a premium package or is $7 top price for a drink? Does anyone know a site for drink prices?? Thank you!
frankc98376 Posted March 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Signature Beverage Package is it- no premium option (ala Celebrity). If the drink is more than $7 you are charged the full amount to your shipboard account- can't pay just the difference. On the plus side most drinks on the bar menus are $6.95. I believe there are bar menus posted at http://www.halfacts.com. Also may find them at http://www.rogerjett-photography.com
Krazy Kruizers Posted March 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2014 But there are some catches. We drink Grey Goose -- as an example -- and it is presently $6.95 -- but since it is a premium alcohol, it is not included in the Drink Package. Also only house wines are included. frankc98376 Posted March 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Something must be going on ship by ship. POA1 is currently on Noordam and he listed Grey Goose vodkas on the brands they used their SBC cards for with no problem in his thread. They evidently are doing extensive "research" on the SBC program- tough job but so glad someone has taken on the task :) We intend on continuing his research on Zuiderdam in May. From HAL website: Signature Beverage Package has a daily limit of 15 beverages priced $7.00 or lower. Signature Beverage Package excludes beverages priced over $7.00 and purchases made in Signature Shops, Mini Bar or In Room Dining. Signature Beverage Packages are not transferable or refundable. Participants may order only one drink at a time, must be 21 years or older and agree not to give alcoholic drinks to minors. No sharing is permitted. Beverage management reserves the right to revoke the Signature Beverage Package if misused and reserves the right to refuse service for any reason, including refusing service of alcoholic beverages to intoxicated guests. I intend on printing this and taking it with me. Says nothing about premium- just says under $7.00 Edited March 5, 2014 by frankc98376

frankc98376 Posted March 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2014 According to POA1 (on Noordam now) if you order a Grey Goose and tonic you're good with the SBC. If you request they use Grey Goose in a Signature Cocktail from the menu you pay. By the time we all understand it there will be a new program. moviefan2010 Posted March 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2014 That package is almost worthless with call drinks and decent glasses of wine since everything is above $7. HAL picked the $7 to screw everyone who is stupid enough to buy the package. An alcoholic with no taste should do fine with it. You need to read through POA1's thread- he is currently on Noordam and his entire party purchased the SBC. Most call brands are $5.95 to $6.95- he listed most brands that are included in the SBC. If you order one of the "Signature Cocktails" which are $6.95 and request a call brand instead of the one listed there is an extra charge that puts it over $7.00. Only the "super premium" liquors are above the $7.00 price point. The card is also good for beverages at the Explorations Cafe.
