okgirl Posted March 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Sorry, it's not location specific. You might ask the casino host if there is anything in their system that could restrict this. But it might be an all or nothing setting, so you couldn't download money either. Edit: I suppose you could put a really low spending limit on everyone's card so they couldn't do too much damage. Sumsss Posted March 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2014 I don't think you can limit places, but I know you can limit if a card can charge at all. We had 4 to a room with an onboard credit so just funded ours with cash and everyone was required to keep track. I printed out the summary from the kiosk just to make sure nobody went over and we didn't get any crazy charges. Sumsss Posted March 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2014 I think you could have each had totally separate accounts too! Sent from my phone - using the Cruise Critic forums app I thought about that, but we were all on a budget and knew our exact amount so it wasn't a big deal for us. We weren't drinking or spending much so it worked for us. Next cruise, we'll probably do separate accounts now that we have a cruise under our belts. Family Travel Story Posted March 9, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Thanks, this is really just for my family, but I am concerned with Casino draws that could max out the budget. Perhaps what I will do is ask at check-in or simply ask the Casino host.

cb at sea Posted March 9, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Whoever you're worried about, don't put them on your credit card....put them on their own account and back it with cash....if the cash runs out, they will ask for more to be put on the account. That way, the CASH controls the spending!! And, I'd have a SERIOUS talk with whoever it is that has the gambling problem.... That way it is not an issue for anyone - they each have to manage themselves.
tncap Posted March 11, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 11, 2014 There has to be some way to restrict it since alcohol purchases can be cut off from the card but that is the only restriction I know of.

frayedend Posted March 11, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 11, 2014 You can definitely restrict the daily amount that is spent on each card. We did this with our kids and the arcade. Of course we did it after we saw they spent $70 one evening.
dainew Posted March 11, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 11, 2014 I carry my 25 year old daughter, 19 year old son, 16 year old niece with hubby and I and I had a talk with them no one can charge anything to my card but me and hubby.....if you charge you will have a short life span.....so everyone had there own gambling money and I check my card twice a day
lhaddon Posted March 17, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 17, 2014 I know there isn't a way to restrict where the purchase is made (i.e., the casino) but is there a way to put a limit on how much is charged? I am going on a cruise in August with my three kids and I am putting my credit card up for sign and sail expenses. Can I go to the purser's desk when we board and place a limit on how much the kids can spend?
