cruisetrail Posted March 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Haven't been on the Miracle for a while, but she is still my favorite Carnival ship - a better balance of amenities, size and number of passengers. How has the Carnival Miracle been lately? Good shape? Good food? Thank you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoJk_XgDatg
lake_wannabees Posted March 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2014 We'll let you know after we return in June. First time on this ship and John Heald will be our cruise director in Alaska.
Sheebah Posted March 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2014 We spent a week-on miracle in November and it was great. Great food and the rooms and ship are clean. Very nice staff too. Princess is our favorite line but carnival is more reasonable and sails near our home - we would return and sail again in a heartbeat. wannagonow123 Posted March 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2014 We just got off the Miracle yesterday. We had a great time! Very clean. Excellent service. We had not traveled Carnival since 2008, and were a bit skeptical, but we were pleasantly surprised. Food was great. Only real lines we encountered was to get pizza. Could not just get a slice, only whole ones, but only had a 10 minute wait at tops. Dress code not enforced in dining rooms. Saw shorts on Elegant night, along with bathing suit tops by younger folks at dinner. Tendering took forever in Cabo. I guess FTTF would have been good here. Embarkation was later than we thought. I don't know the exact time they started letting folks on the ship, But we were boarding group 3, and our room was ready when we got on. I know everything went quickly once groups were called. One note, signage is bad. You need to go to Queen Mary to check in, then go back to dome. No signs telling you this. The porters at taxi were also telling everyone they could get your smuggled booze through security, of course for a fee. (ours got through no problem). The only other issue we had was at the casino. We smoke, and they layout of the casino for smoking was stupid. Random areas throughout. So you would be in a smoking row, but the next row was not, then again, smoking. Really stupid . There was a small corner in the back that had quite a few. Carnival should make that whole section smoking, and keep the other areas for non-smokers. Overall, had a great time, and would sail on the Miracle again.

happy cruzin Posted March 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2014 I just got off her yesterday. As always, the cruise was awesome! Sadly, she's beginning to show her age with ragged carpeting, some rust and some worn upholstery. Hopefully she'll have a day at the spa in the form of a dry dock soon. You won't be disappointed, though. She's a great ship. LOL...we just sailed 2/15/14 and that's exactly what I was going to say! ;)
mickide Posted March 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Yikes, tendering was a big issue when we went a few months back. And we had fttf I have a review on Miracle in my signature We were on the Miracle in October and were so glad we had purchased FTTF. Some people waited 3 hours to tender into Cabo :(. We did love the Miracle and when we got home we booked the same cruise & cabin for the first week of October again. And yes, we did buy FTTF immediately! elliair Posted March 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2014 We cruised on her to Alaska last year and had a great time. Nice ship, loved the itinerary. We're going again in May but on Princess, we can drive to the port instead of flying. I would definitely go back on the Miracle - maybe later in the season to Alaska again - depends on the cost of the flight to Seattle.

PhxRain Posted March 10, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2014 Glad she is getting good reviews, we'll be on her for Alaska in Sept. I am a bit worried about tendering though, Sitka is our only tender port but we don't have a scheduled tour that day, just wandering around on our own, so that will be a sleep in morning with a leisurely breakfast rather than buying a FTTF. Let everyone else battle to get off of her. :D

labsnabys Posted March 10, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 10, 2014 We loved Miracle last year! Yes, she is a bit dated and in need of some updating, which I thought John Heald said she will get with scheduled drydock in March 2015. The crew did a fabulous job keeping everything sparkling clean.

There's lots to see and do in foot but we wished we had done an excursion to explore the area in hindsight. Carnival Miracle video tour:

You're on the only Miracle sailing that goes there this year on the 8 day sailing. Have fun! Edited March 10, 2014 by nedken Wrong info
Kitsunegari Posted March 10, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 10, 2014 Wow! I just realized this ship is 10 years old. Still remember watching her pull out, all white and shiny, a week before we sailed her.

Fitzget Posted March 10, 2014 #20 Share Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I'm sailing on Miracle in November. While I've never sailed Miracle before, I have sailed Carnival Pride, in 2004 (she was only 2 years old). LOVE that ship, the layout, size, etc. Really looking forward to sailing Miracle come November, and happy she's getting some good reviews. WindsorFred Posted March 13, 2014 #22 Share Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) can't wait to sail in alittle over 4 weeks to Hawaii!! 16 nights -WOO HOO!!!!! Marsha Did that in January. One really rough day @ sea caused us to be late into Hilo. Also missed Kona (tender port) due to high seas. Was a fun trip though.
