Is it possible to walk from a Pt.Canaveral hotel to cruise port?

From my memory it seems almost impossible to get around the cruise port unless you are in a vehicle. Where as NYC and New Orleans are very pedestrian friendly.

It would be a very long walk, and difficult with luggage as there are not sidewalks the entire way.

No!!! It is not pedestrian friendly at all......very busy road with no sidewalks!!!

We rent a car from Budget, drive to Port Canaveral from Orlando stay in a hotel overnight and return the car the morning we board the ship. Budget has a free shuttle to and from the cruise port a few minutes away. We rent a car for the trip back to Orlando to fly home. Done this many times and it works great.

The simple answer is, no.... Take a taxi or shuttle to the port.
