musicfam Posted March 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Our family will be on Freedom soon and we would like to go to one of the restaurants where you can watch the Saturday ships depart. We will have several children with us. Any suggestions?

tispwisp Posted March 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2014 There's a Thai place across the road from the Radisson. (I forget the name of it right now) but it is fabulous. Our go to restaurant in Port Canaveral. We have also eaten at Fishlips several times.
Merv692 Posted March 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Its a little ways from the port in Titusville. Called Dixie Crossroads. If you never had rock shrimp they are a must!
Eng23 Posted March 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Millikens, FishLips or Rusty's....they're all basically in a row.... Don't forget Grill's too! Right next to the other three mentioned.

CruiseDude_83 Posted March 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Rusty's was good and they had good happy hour specials while we watch the ships go out.

SD CRUZER II Posted March 14, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2014 I second the suggestion for Dixie Crossroads. Although you cant see the boats, the food was great and worth the drive and wait. We also ate at fishlios as well. Best hotel to stay at is the Radisson IMO. Best park and stay package. Eng23 Posted March 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 14, 2014 How far is Fishlips from the port? Is it hard to get a table for 6? Fishlips is in the port area. It is just east of Terminal 10 and overlooks the port area. It should not be too hard to get a table for 6, just call a little ahead of time and they can tell you. I had a table set up for about 10 people the last time I was there. I did call ahead to make the arrangement.
CruiseDude_83 Posted March 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Here is a photo that I took of Rusty's form Enchantment on Sail away but all of the restaurants that are in this area have a great view of the ships going out.

Scotty G Posted March 14, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 14, 2014 So, Fishlips is walkable from the ship? No. It is across the port basin from the current cruise terminals. The new terminal will be on the same side as the restaurants.
Eng23 Posted March 14, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 14, 2014 So, Fishlips is walkable from the ship? Not really due to the port layout and construction taking place. It is a very short taxi ride though.
summersigh Posted March 14, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 14, 2014 How far is Fishlips from the port? Is it hard to get a table for 6? Fishlips was great. Seems family friendly with long tables - easily seat 8 or more. Kids have room to move around. Food was delicious. Easy to get to and easy to park. The webcam for Port Canaveral is located at Fishlips. :)

Sky616 Posted March 14, 2014 #19 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Rusty's was a good place to eat. We got there too late to watch the ships leave. Was having too much fun in our hotel pool and didn't make it in time.
bigque Posted March 14, 2014 #20 Share Posted March 14, 2014 We had a pre cruise Meet & Greet from our roll call the evening before our cruise on Freedom in October at Rusty's. We had a great time with about 30 of us which Rusty's reserved their outdoor patio for us. Good Food, Good Drinks, Good View! Our Roll Call pre cruise meet & greet I took these of Freedom coming in on that Sunday Morning from Rusty's!
