How much damage did you do?

Getting ready to set sail on Monday, printing docs and packing...also making sure I have cash on hand, and $ in my bank account. Figuring up what excursions I want to take, and budgeting what I'll allow myself to gamble.

Last cruise we had $250 OBC from FCC and ES price drop...two of us, we had pre-paid tips so they didn't come out of OBC...we came home with $30 back. We took an excursion, had some soda with dinner, coffee/cake from cafe, and a few mixed drinks.

So just wondering...how much "damage" did you do with your S&S card on your last cruise? Or did you come home with some $ in your pocket like we did?

We are the type of cruiser that pre-pays as much as possible, buys a magnetic fridge clip with the ship's name as our only souvenir, brings our own soda, and buys maybe 2-3 alcohol drinks during the entire cruise. Typical S&S bill is less than $50.

I often wonder if customs thinks I'm lying when I say I bought nothing or just $20 in trinkets. I will buy bottles of Bailey's Coffee Flavored because I use it in a cake I bake and it's the bigger bottle and better price than on land, but I had pretty good stock so haven't bought any recently.

Had obc from stock, military and FCC. This paid gratuities. We picked up 2 bottles of Patron and perfume to spend the balance on board. Not bad!

I think on the last two cruises (B2B ) we had a balance of $4.00 & $12.00. We cash out in the casino the afternoon before we got back to Tampa.

The $12.00 was because I did a load of wash that evening. The ol'man was p$$%ed he was trying to get a 0 balance.

We buy a couple cartons of cigarettes and a couple bottles of scotch. We prepay tips and usually have enough obc (FCC, stock, and price drops) to cover all or most of the above. We get booze from born voyage before the trip and mix our own drinks. We like wine with dinner, so we buy a wine package. Total bill is generally just the cost of the wine package.

I always start with $200.00 but all of my cruises I have got money back.. I am not a big drinker and I don't gamble but usually buy a few souvenirs on ship usually for the grandkids and if I can swing a drink cup then I'm a happy camper..My favorite cup so far is the coconut monkey head..I don't usually use credit cards when I travel, have them for emergency's but that is it. I know this subject is very much talked about but to each their own. It works for me and that is what matters. So not much damaged on my sail and sign card.;)

Wow!!!!!! You guys are GOOD!!!!!!! We normally end up with a bill of $800-$1000. Mostly drinks, but also arcade, gift shop, pictures, etc.

I was thinking the same thing!! And we typically do the same "damage " as you !

If they did, you would know it :D

No clue, my wife is the CFO and pays the bills.:D

Same, only my husband is the CFO.

I do know it was a lot less than normal since I wasn't drinking. I had maybe one virgin drink per day. He had a few drinks and gambled a bit. The only things we bought on board were some vodka (two bottles for a deal and it came with a smaller third bottle) to take home and a Swarvoski bracelet that disappeared before I even had a chance to wear it. :(

I buy my souveniers ( fridge magnets) in port.

Totally agree. 7 day cruise and we spent $725. Preparing for an 8 day next year and I'm planning on an $800 bill. Hubby likes to drink. I have some and I usually play a game or two of bingo. We will also try out the Steakhouse this time as we haven't yet. Here's to hoping it isn't too high!!!

Sometimes we have to buy something, but not often.

Once my son's swim trunks were ripped.

A few times we bought something.

We bought pictures once.

A few excursions.

Aside from trips our bill is less than one hundred.

We get a couple of drinks and that is about it.

It's hard to say how much someone else would need to budget. We usually have one mixed drink each per day, one specialty meal, a couple of photos, and maybe a shore excursion. Our highest bill was last year traveling with our 4 daughters and I think we racked up about $800 - which included a Segway tour ($89 x 5) and the Chef's Table ($75 x 2), plus I bought a Fossil watch. We also had quite a large OBC due to all of the price drops that offset the gratuities and a good chunk of that bill :)

Next cruise: Carnival Breeze June 2014

Same as you! there are only 2 of us and our bill usually runs at least $100 per day and that's with Grats and shore excursions paid ahead!
