JEH Posted March 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2014 We are long time Princess cruisers who have enjoyed on the multi sea day cruises ie. Transatlantic , Panama Canal, etc. playing duplicate bridge. These sessions were hosted by a bridge master who over saw the games. Princess has done away with this activity and now we are in search of another cruise line that provides bridge sessions. We would appreciate feedback on Celebrity bridge sessions. Thanks

Thanks Like you, we will miss the organized bridge sessions with a Director on Princess. The last two Celebrity cruises we were on they put out cards, stubby little pencils and paper so you could play in one of the alternate restaurants if you could round up 4 people. We did take a 35 day Holland America cruise and they had a Bridge Director who gave a lesson every sea day and we had about 14 tables every afternoon. It was really nice and the instructor was fabulous. We had encountered Armond and his wife Paula on a Princess cruise a few years ago. They are very good. If the cruise is port-intensive, I don't miss the bridge play, but with a lot of sea days, I will really miss it!
C 2 C Posted March 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2014 No organized bridge play and no dedicated card rooms on newer ships. Someone figured out long ago that people playing bridge are too busy to spend $$$ elsewhere. ;)
mattmike6972 Posted March 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Just off the Island Princess to Panama Canal. A life master from Portland gave great lessons and we played duplicate. Have booked the Millennium to Alaska in July. Called Celebrity and asked if they had bridge instruction on the cruise. Was told no.
