Photo review

I am sailing on the Divina in Sept and keep looking for reviews with photos. I guess I am used to the Carnival board (Yep I'm one of those) but people on there come back and post reviews on the carnival board with tons of photos of the ship. I would love to see that here. So of anyone out there has recently sailed and has a photo type review please post one ..

You will have to get thru my pre cruise report before the actual review starts

I remember reading this review now :) I LOVED it!! I really liked how detailed it was and I enjoy the pictures!!

When you go on the Carnival board there are tons of reviews with lots of photos. It just seems strange that its not the same on the MSC page. And honestly the Royal Caribbean page doesn't have many either??

I sail in 15 days. Many of my friends are TAs and very curious about the Divina and asked for tons of pictures (definite photohound here).

There probably will be tons of photos coming from me when we return, perhaps some video as well. However, I'm on a music charter, so there won't be any photos or reviews of the shows. Everything else is fair game. :D

Well I look forward to hearing (and seeing) all about it!

Enjoy the cruise!!

There are numerous photos of Divina available, and on this forum. Recently both Cruisetrail and Cruiseguys2009 have contributed just what you are looking for. Please research.

I have seen those and enjoyed them. I guess I'm just looking for more personal photos... I just love lots of reviews with photos, but I will keep looking, I have a few months to go :)

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the Yacht Club.

I must agree the Cistern in Istanbul was really fascinating. I was underwhelmed with Topkapi Palace apart from the Jewel room. I found it was not maintained as well as it should be. The Alhambra in Granada was much more beautiful.

As a lowly regular person who will never sail the Yacht club I must say that I did not see why one would need to be escorted to the tour bus. That IMHO is really over the top.

I don't usually do ship tours but I was annoyed that the front seat of the coach was reserved for Yacht Club guests. I am sure they did not pay any more for the excursion.

We only went in the yacht club because a quirk in the pricing structure meant that the YC was cheaper than a balcony with the All inclusive package by £150pp. So we just had to give it a go.

It's well worth doing the maths as I've seen the same senario crop up again

Here is an actual example of the price for YC being cheaper than a Balcony + AI. In fact that actual cruise is sailing right this moment (just over half way through)

This thread:-------http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1968036&page=2

NOTICE an IiNSIDE was the same price as the MIDDLE BALCONY grade

From the thread. Note the prices are for a 14, yes 14 , night cruise!!!

That works out at £71.37 ($117) per person per night, Which in my books is extremely good value

Here is a real example of a B3 cabin + Allegrissimo package costing more than a YC 1.

interestingly the B3 cabin is £839.20 ($1385) but that would need to add the allegrisimo package on to be comparable to a YC1

Allegrismo is £20 per day ($33)

So 14 x £20 = £280 ($462)

Total cost of B3 is £839.20 + £280 = £1119.20 ($1847)

So would you pay £999.20 ($1649) and get the drinks, butlers, priorities, exclusives etc. OR, £1119.2 ($1847) for cabin + drinks and NO PERKS

£120 ($198) more for an awful lot less!!!!:mad:

Whether anyone thinks they are over the top or are annoyed, those are perks of being in the Yacht Club. The only "lowly regular persons" who will never sail in the Yacht Club either don't know to research the prices on a particular sailing in order to notice the savings over another category or those who haven't figured out that there is no difference between "lowly regular persons" and regular persons who sail in the Yacht Club. I consider myself "regular" (never lowly) and just returned from a cruise with my family in the Yacht Club. It was worth every penny we saved and spent.

BTW how many people can possibly sit in one front seat of a coach?

I agree the personal photos are so much more interesting.

I love the reviewers on Carnival also especially Mikey the Mountie etc.

Yeah I've been on th Royal Carabbean board and they also seem to not post a lot of reviews with photos? It just seems like the best way to do research on your upcoming cruises.

Eroller is on the Divina this week,he always does extensive and picture rich reviews.

I can't wait to read it!!

I would LOVE to be able to cruise in the yacht club but it isn't in the cards for us.. BUT I sure don't begrudge anyone else being able to do so!! If you can afford the extra money I say GO FOR IT!! Yeah when I go on an excursion I'm gonna look at the lucky folks that get the 'front seat' or special perks and be a bit envious but, I would never say it isn't fair. It is totally fair!! You get what you pay for and if you can pay for more you get more :)
