bguppies Posted March 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) When you get to cozumel, how far is it to get to cancun from cruise port. Are you arriving in Cozumel by cruiseship or on a land vacation? It would be a 45 minute ferry ride each way and around an hour bus/cab ride each way to get to Cancun. (it's about the same distance north from Playa Del Carmen, as Tulum is south.) So basically 4 hours each way and alot of transportation costs. A huge chunk of a short cruiseship day. Might be cheaper to catch a direct flight from many US cities to Cancun.;) I'm sure some have tried it though. maldenmusic Posted March 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2014 It will take up a large chunk of your Coz time to get to and from Cancun. If u are lucky enough to be on a ship that stays for a very long day it might be worth it but otherwise not, IMHO.

bguppies Posted March 25, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2014 This is a family vacation with kids and i want to go to just the best beach there. Sent from my VS950 4G using Forums mobile app There is no "best beach there". There is the rough, eastern side of the island and the western side, where all the beach clubs share the same stretch of sand. It is WHAT each beach club offers, that differentiates them. (and cost) Nachi Cocum has a 100 person limit per day. AI. Quietest, very RELAXING beach day. (not much for kids, more adult club) Mr. Sanchos has an AI side and ala Carte side, inflatable water toys. Similar to Nachi, but music and a more lively atmosphere and things to do. Playa Mia has a big kiddie pool, waterslides and same beach amenities. (probably best beach for young kids) Paradise Beach has the cheapest entry $3 and additional charge for water toys. Chankanaab has a rockier shore, better for snorkeling, and dolphins, sea lions, etc... Money Bar again has the rockier shore and better snorkeling. Tiny created beach and rocky entrance to water. (probably the worst "Beach".) Playa Palancar is the furthest south of the main beach clubs. No admission but most expensive cab ride. $20 instead of $17 to most of the others) Hope that helps start your search for "the best beach there." maldenmusic Posted March 26, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Here are few pics taken at Palancar in June 2013. We seem to end up here every time we are in Coz and will go again this summer.
maldenmusic Posted March 26, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 26, 2014 And here are pics taken on the east side of Coz in May 2012. The sun wasn't out and it was a little rainy but it is very beautiful over there. We did not swim but just put our feet in the water a bit. Seas tend to be rough on the windward side. bguppies Posted March 26, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Thanks for the pictures, do you know where paradise beach factors in at Do you mean where Paradise Beach is located?!?!? On the map it is the first beach club listed in the ocean. (Directly above Nachi, Sanchos and Playa Mia) Otherwise, explain what , "factors in at" refers to and I'll try to help.
