Specialty Restaurant Discounts

In the Celebrity Secrets thread (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2017305&page=5), a post said that Specialty Restaurants are sometimes offered at a discount.

 

Where can one find these discount advertisements and what kind of discounts can I expect?

on board mostly. you can either ask at each restaurant or there might be a roving waiter offering deals. or there could be a flyer in your cabin.

 

I have seen anything from 30-50% off and a BOGO offer.

On embarkation day, we walked past the Tuscon Grill and were asked if we wanted to book. When we said we were waiting for a bogo sale and he offered it to us on the spot. When we got to our room, there was a message on the phone from the CC rep offering us the same deal. We had calls from CC rep and the restaurants almost everyday offering us half off sales. Some were because we're Elite and some for AQ class.

Roving waiter who can bargain. Luck of the draw to see him. Usually in the buffet dining area. We have never seen the Murano full. Therefore they have to fill where they can. Never seen any ads or postings.

We were AQ on our last two cruises. We were offered BOGO the first night and a 30% the other nights.

If you eat in a specialty restaurant and want to book another meal...ask the maitre d' on the way out and you are almost guaranteed a deal on the second meal, irrespective of what you paid for the first one.

On most Celebrity ships I have seen a representative from the Specialty dining positioned outside the buffet. If you ask about any discounts, he can tell you and he has the computer right there to make reservations. But on the first day of the cruise, go to the front desk. They often have a 3 restaurant package.
