Traveller20074 Posted April 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Do you "check" it in your bags before you board the ship? I have been dragging a small suitcase with it to lunch, and looking around before you can get into the cabin. Sure would be nice not to have to lug that thing around lol
cb at sea Posted April 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2014 It's better to carry any necessary equip. or medications with you....should something happen to it, what would you do then?
YubaSutter Posted April 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2014 You can always check in after 1:30 and drop it off in your cabin.

Then we put them in the cabin and explore the ship at that time.
Cruzman Posted April 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Read a post once that described a situation in which a CPAP that was in checked luggage, was damaged upon arrival to the cruiser's stateroom. When the individual complained, the cruise line determined that the CPAP machine was essential equipment for the cruiser's health, therefore he was escorted off the ship prior to sailing. Guess the cruise line paid for the repairs to the CPAP, but the guest missed his cruise. I would never put my CPAP in checked luggage!
Traveller20074 Posted April 5, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I suppose you're right. I was just thinking that from the dock to the ship, which isn't very far, what could happen? It's not going under an airplane, but it still might get damaged. thanks for the feedback everyone!
JimAOk1945 Posted April 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I always keep my CPAP (in its case) with me until I have the opportunity to put it in our stateroom. It may seem like an inconvenience at times, but I'd rather have it with me than take a chance on its being damaged.
agargoyle Posted April 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Hi some ships have a drop off place that you can drop carry on luggage until our room is ready. I think you need either luggage tags on the luggage. Depending on the time you get on the ship...we will stop at the room -- and if we see the room steward we ask if we can put the cpap in the room and will come back later when the announcement is made.
