gkrnjlr Posted April 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2014 We're currently booked on the Sunshine for January 2015. I've read hit and miss reviews on that ship and don't want to take a risk. That being said.....I'm not asking anyone to convince me to sail on the Sunshine, instead I am just trying to decide between the Magic, Dream and Breeze as a replacement for our January cruise. All of those have pretty much the same itinerary (Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel). Any input is appreciated! Thanks!
renza Posted April 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I have to say we have sailed both dream and breeze, and returning to breeze again in June but my favorite was the Dream. Not sure why, both very much alike. Entertainers on the dream were better. Overall can't go wrong with any of them. gkrnjlr Posted April 5, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Does the Dream have the Blue Iguana and Guy's on it? And if not, I assume that it doesn't carry much "weight" over decisions on which ship is better? Thank you for your help!
KPfromCT Posted April 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2014 Definitely, the Breeze!!! She has EVERY bell and whistle. 2.0 ( Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina, Red Frog Pub, etc ) Ropes course, Waterworks, Thrill Theater, Bonsai Sushi, etc. This ship is BEAUTIFUL.:D:D:D
Rare Tapi Posted April 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2014 Is cost, distance, or airfare a factor? Although the Breeze may be the newest, I would be more swayed by the factors mentioned above. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
lucy2mb Posted April 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2014 Our family has been on both the Dream and the Breeze and we all liked the Dream better. The entertainment was much better on the Dream. We also liked the layout better on the Dream's lido deck. We didn't care for the new décor on the Breeze. I know some people will disagree. MeghanJ Posted April 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2014 If the prices are comparable, I'd go with the Breeze. I'd miss the Guy's and Burrito place if I went back on the Dream. Hope this helps.
cruisecrazy82 Posted April 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 6, 2014 Breeze for sure!!! Why not sail the newest of them all if you can? Plus the decor is sooooo much nicer than any other CCL ship IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
luvsviola Posted April 6, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 6, 2014 Just off Dream this morning. I'd do Breeze. We had a lot of service related issues and they made little attempt to care. I won't personally sail her again. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
sjcruiser Posted April 6, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 6, 2014 We were on the Breeze last Labor Day, and are looking at booking another Breeze cruise for January after our Sunshine summer cruise. It's great ship, and we enjoyed it with plenty to do onboard.
jamesr3939 Posted April 7, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 7, 2014 No Guys or BI Cantina on the Dream. There is a BI bar on pool deck but it's just a bar. We loved the Cloud Nine balcony cabin and just booked again for January 25th. Never done the Breeze so can't speak to it. You must do the Chefs Table it was outstanding. LREcruise02 Posted April 7, 2014 #12 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Just off the Dream and it was great. Best entertainment I have ever experienced on a ship!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
gkrnjlr Posted April 7, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Thank you for everyone's input! It's a tough toss-up. I do find it interesting that no one picked the Magic. I think that both the Breeze and Dream are on my bucket list. Now it's just making the reservation! Thanks everyone!
SkyMaster Posted April 7, 2014 #14 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Having sailed all of 'em, I too would sail "Dream" again over the other two. The overall cruise is much better on "Dream", and the entertainment is FAR SUPERIOR on "Dream". I couldn't care less about "Guys", or the "Blue Iguana". ;) "SKY"
2Shoes2Go Posted April 7, 2014 #15 Share Posted April 7, 2014 New Orleans, with a balcony. Wonderful eight hours down the Mississippi. Go port side for the best view. Enjoy a couple extra days in New Orleans. :)
