CRAZY pricing for fall 2015 Regal TA

19 day St. Petersburg to NY departing 9/7/15 - $1,949 inside, $2,759 balcony

 

:eek:Twice as much to sail from Berlin! I have an idea why - but interested to know your opinions.

 

This TA is also available as a 15 day from Copenhagen - NY

Yes they are, and its a long way away.

You would never see discount prices this far out especially for a new ship.

Correction. Royal Princess is the ship in question, not the Regal.

Since the ship is actually doing multiple itineraries on the same voyage, it stands to reason that they allocated less cabins to the embarking in Berlin voyage which would drive up the price... less availability, higher price.

Had not thought of that. Embarking in St. Petersburg, considering visa requirements and current tensions with Russia, might be less popular than embarking in Berlin. Maybe they are offering a financial incentive to do so.

And if it is indeed the regal you have a new ship premium plus exotic itinerary (would also depends on how many other ships are sailing those same ports).

 

That said, it seems like the algorithm is way out of whack unless there is a lot of demand for Berlin to St Petersberg and people getting off in Russia.

Royal TA April 27 2014 15 days to Ft Lauderdale to Copenhagen Balcony $1199/Inside $599. Can't beat that with a stick but you have to sail on short notice. :D

That is a super bargain! One of our favorite itineraries was a last minute deal. I was amazed at what we could pull together in 2 weeks to take advantage of that price.

If we decide to do this, it will be because we would be ending a river cruise in Berlin and would need to coordinate. We used to be happy in a broom closet but then I started getting seasick so now we get as low and midship as possible.
