Brentngigi Posted April 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2014 Anyone have any experience with an FV guarantee? If you are not assigned a FV, what is the upgrade? Could it be to a regular balcony cabin (much smaller) where everyone must sleep in the same room? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
Starry Eyes Posted April 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2014 I think the cruise line would consider concierge class or aqua class balcony cabins to be upgrades over FV. I would not personally agree, but that is how it looks on paper. I'd only go with an FV gty if I'd be happy in the worst concirge class balcony at that gty price. upwarduk Posted April 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) Where have you seen a FV guarantee? Never seen those advertised before. On our TA in Oct on Infinity, the FV were snapped up as soon as they were released for 2 people ( June) Edited April 15, 2014 by upwarduk
iHeartGlaciers Posted April 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2014 Is it standard that they release the FV to couples 4 months before sail date?
Rare Turtles06 Posted April 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2014 Is it standard that they release the FV to couples 4 months before sail date? No standard release date that anyone can tell. They release them when they release them. :)
CathyCruises Posted April 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2014 I was able to book one in July for a November cruise a few years ago--bargain of the century! $999 for a 14 day Med cruise. . .on Solstice
chessbriar Posted April 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 15, 2014 If no FV become available, they will upgrade you to concierge
Starry Eyes Posted April 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2014 If no FV become available, they will upgrade you to concierge Even if an FV does become available, if you book a gty, they have the option is "upgrade" you to concierge.

I would imagine no chance of an upgrade if you had 5 in the cabin??? I have a FV on Silhouette in the Med cruise and I would have thought the chance of an upgrade or price drop as all cabins are gone would be out of the question:(:( Not complaining got a great price, US TA quoted me the same price in $ as Celebrity UK quoted in £ First cruise on Celebrity and really looking forward to it:D:D
