Venice cruise ships over 96,000 tons banned

Cruise ships at 96,000 tons and over will be banned from the Venice lagoon effective November 30th this year.

Old news and now it Jan of 2015 and that may change also.

We just returned from a week long trip on the Fantasia and I have to say sailing out of Venice was spectacular. The ship did stir up a lot of sand though, so I can't blame them for wanting to ban large ships from sailing thorugh Venice.
