Enchantment 4/14, Sorry not a review

Sailed the four night on Enchantment on 4/14. It was a great

cruise. I've sailed mainly Voyager and Freedom class the last 10 years.

I loved this ship. I thought it was in fantastic shape. I don't get the reviews saying otherwise.

I'm far from a Royal fanatic and find the loyalist who worship a corporation a little odd but this was one of my favorite ships. I'd still pick a Freedom class with the promenade but Enchantment runs a close second for me.

There was the occasional sewage smell on deck four but it didn't bother me. The shower in my inside stateroom sucked but after the first shower I

got the hang of it. The rest of the bathroom was fine. I thought the cabin worked great and was in great shape. I didn't really interact with my steward but he did a great job.

We had a great wait staff and requested them for the whole cruise.

Food was typical Royal main dining room food. Call me a freak but I like

Royal's dining room food.

The windjammer was probably more crowded than other ships but it was never a problem and I think I only noticed it because of all the posts about it here.

Great pool deck with lots of room. My first time with an outdoor big screen. I loved it even if it didn't seem to be used much or maybe I just wasn't paying attention. I did think if I saw one more Oasis/Quantum commercial I was going to jab a cocktail straw in my eye. I get it, Oasis/Quantum are the bomb and new but show me something else.

I did the select drink package. If you drink beer, are on a four day cruise, get included beer the whole time unless you get off in Nassau, then $160 is a no brainer. I did get a little beered out at points and had to step it up to liquor but it was close as to whether I needed the $55/day package.

On a seven day or longer I'd probably stick with the beer package but if I do a four day again I think I'll go with the one that has liquor for just $60 more.

I don't like shows on cruise ships all that much. I would go get my family situated and watch a little before leaving. From what little I saw I thought the entertainment was good for being on a short cruise. My family enjoyed the shows and I thought the main showroom was beautiful.

On a short cruise I feel like I don't take advantage of a lot of the venues.

I remember really liking the Solarium but only went there once for about an hour. I really liked the Schooner bar and piano player but again only went for a short while. The Spotlight lounge was very cool but again I was

only there once.

My purpose was to just say I'd answer questions if I can but I guess I kind of did a mini review.

I loved the ship, the crew was great, never went hungry or thirsty, won a little in the casino and I am going to do my best to get back on this ship again soon.

I'll try to answer any questions.

Thank you for your review I have this ship booked next year and I have sailed Freedom class 3 times. I get tempted to cancel the Enchanment because I have read many bad reviews. I to have mixed feelings thinking I may compare it to much to the Liberty. Could you tell me what kind of show was performed in the Centrum area? And what was the featured show?

Thank you

I would not hesitate to sail the Enchantment again and I would not consider it "settling" for a lessor cruise. Having said that there would have to be a reason for me to take the Enchantment over the Liberty. For me it was mainly departure port but also price. All things being equal I would be on the Liberty.

I thought they had some kind of acrobatic show but I never saw or heard about it. I did see different bands and the typical RCCL 70s show is held there. Not to put down the 70s show because it is always a lot of fun and I think the Centrum might even be a better location than the promenade for it.

I guess the featured show was the magician. There was also a "headliner" comedian that was good. Of course the welcome aboard show and the musical review show.

It really was a great cruise and a very nice ship.

I can also add that I sailed Monarch a couple years ago. While it was fun and I knew what I was getting ahead of time, that is definitely settling for a lessor ship. I didn't feel that way with Enchantment.

I just got off Oasis a few weeks ago and my DH and I were actually noting some things we like better on enchantment...it's less crowded, we thought Bing Bong Marc was a better cruise director than the guy on Oasis and the solarium is nicer IMO.

I agree about the Solarium. The Solarium pool on Oasis is too small, and the space is too hot. They really blew it on the Oasis class Solarium design. Much more enjoyable Solarium on Enchantment.

Dennis & Sue Here from the Charleston, SC area.

The 3 and 4 day cruises out of Port Canaveral are our favorite getaways. A half days drive and we are there.

We've sailed the Sovereign 3 times, Monarch 11 times and Enchantment 4 times to the Bahamas out of Port Canaveral since 2007... We've visited Nassau 25 times and CoCo Cay 19 times.

We did this same cruise last December 30, New Years Eve in CoCO Cay and New Years Day in Nassau...

The Enchantment knows how to Party on New Years Eve. Parties about the Ship for any taste, they had two combined bands in the Centrum doing Pop/Rock. They had a Latin band in Boleros, They had the Ship's Ochestra doing Big Band music in the Spotlight Lounge and a Pianist in the Schooner Bar. Every host/hostess started bringing out trays of complimentary Champaign about 11:45pm. There was a Buffet on the Pool Deck at 12:15am and if you were wondering what was happening in the Viking Crown Lounge, well, they started a Disco Party about 12:15AM (The First Party of 2014) that went, I'm Told, until 5AM... Reyno, the Concierge, had a party in his lounge too...
